100%. I have always been a Merrett fan, but I feel he has been somewhat selfish this year. I can’t explain it, but I feel like it’s all about Merrett this year.

maybe I’m misinterpreting what he’s doing, maybe he feels he needs to do more because of all the injuries, but I felt last night we played more like a team and with more ferocity.

If we played the kids at the beginning og the season they would have been smashed and injured from playing out a long and gruelling season. They needed their time in the VFL, learning to play with each other and to gain the physical conditioning to mix it in senior footy. Now they have a taste, they will go into a preseason knowing whats required and totally motivated. Excellent man management by the coaches under adverse circumstances.

do you think the vfl is just a magical fairyland walk in the park where all the kids are just equally matched to other young kids and they learn with training wheels on ?

they’ve still played out a long and grueling season, and ironically it’s the kids who seem to be mostly handling it better then the senior players.
