Hobbs and Perkins - not their fault they got the curse of being an Essendon first round draft pick. We have had very much more duds than successes for such important picks.
What was the crowd today?
Durham is the standard. We need all our younger kids going forward to play with his ferocity. Worth going to the footy for.
Itâs like they havenât played much footy together as a groupâŚ.
Youâd be hard pressed to find any player in the league attack the ball as hard as Duz did today.
The guy was like a possessed fukn demon.
Unfortunately, he must have spent his fuel tickets and didnt have much left in the tank in the last quarter.
Thought it was Kakoâs best game. May is looking real handy while caddy, Clarke , Johnson and Lual keep growing every game.
Was a super fun watch for 3/4
The part of the game plan that still doesnât work is the bombing of the ball into our 50. It happened over and over again. We ignored the little chip kick to someone 40-45 meters out and went long where they continued to mop up.
When we lowered our eyes we looked ok (Kick to Archer May for example) but it doesnât happen enough.
Duzz was moved out the middle in the last qtr for some baffling reason.
We are too unimaginative to do any of this. Iâm resigned to the fact that we are stuck with our injury prone long contracted mediocre leaders.
29k.
Not bad.
Reality bites . Hawks in Clarkson era ( aka Dorks) ⌠recruited people who are not necessarily swift or big ⌠but can deliver a kick (skills). Simple as that. Does DâAmbrisio come to mind âŚ
The list that @Marco built. Well done Adrian.
130 posts in the review thread 4 hours after a 40 point loss. Season is well and truly cooked.
The probability is youâre right but Brad Scott will never receive a pay check as large as he can as coach with us. Even a GM at head office wouldnât come close. The only way for us to have any chance of a top 4 in the next 3 years is to bring in talent and chop the senior dead wood.
The fans coukd cop another 12 months of watching the kids develop if we move past the senior players that constantly let us down
The saga will never wash off.
They prefer the little chip kick BACKWARDS to the halfback line, who then does a little chip kick sideways to someone else who tries a little chip kick that leads to a turnover and a goal to the opposition. Great game plan, BS.
Especially if people are never reminded that nothing of the Saga was the fault of James HIrd.
That it all was due to Fat Vlad wanting a scapegoat to protect cheating clubs that won flags.
That zero evidence was found despite sending secret samples to the worldâs labs able to detect the teeniest tinest trace of PEDs.
Those are the three key facts. We can of course cite more.
Iâd like to see us clear out the 50 and give our forwards some space. Too often our forward line looks like peak hour Flinders Street platform 7. No space to move. If youâre not a chance to mark the ball, or willing to stand front and centre of a marking contest, get the hell out of there. And take your man with you.
Tanking.
Honestly the perfect tanking performance. Youth all showed signs, didnât win but was a tight contest until the boys noted that weâre heading toward top 5 pick this year
Yea liked it and then threw the AFL under the bus so credit to him.

We are too unimaginative to do any of this. Iâm resigned to the fact that we are stuck with our injury prone long contracted mediocre leaders.
If they are injury prone and mediocre why would another club want them on long contracts? If arenât under any salary cap pressure why would we attach an asset to dump them?
