I get the feeling it may be a long time until this story is over. But l love it.
did you see they are trying to build a large gated community in ubud just for russians with russian shops etc? there were protests about it but not sure what the latest is.
We are staying at the Goya Boutique resort. Our kids and our friend’s kids are adding a lot of noise to the resort which is full of honeymooners! Not sure they are too happy with us!

Don’t know if that is still going ahead or not. We have been looking at some property to build on and last year I was seriously close to nabbing a block in Canggu but nearly every single property around it was Russian investments so we didn’t go through with it.

A Balinese architect I know had a very bad experience with a Russian developer. The villa collapsed because the wrong materials were used in the construction and the Russian then sued him . He successfully defended himself through the courts, but will no longer take on any assignments with Russians.
