Sorry, I think you may have misunderstood my conflict.

 

It's not that I care for the feelings of the robot, it's that I'm worried that by owning a robot vacuum slave that I would then fall into the same class of person who owns/drives a BMW X6.

Nah, makes life easier. But you still have  to do a proper vacuum every so often, just not as frequently as previous.

Do a fair job, but you have to clean the brushes regularly.
