Don’t change essendon just don’t change
if that’s the end result of 5 months of building and planning then god help us
For the love of god, can someone explain the Perkins selection.
Not blaming him for the loss, but why?
Maybe you could turn the tall timber into pellets and smoke us up something decent?
They could finish bottom.
I didn’t think Blakiston was going to be so uncompetitive and thus our midfield can’t operate at all.
Bottom 2-3 it is.
I’m not convinced on Fiorini. He heard footsteps a couple of times and dishes off early to avoid contact.
Needs a spoonful after tonight’s game , how did he make the leadership group…
No one looked match fit to br honest.
Would love to see 2MP get dropped, but there’s not much left in the cupboard is there?
Top 3 pick with a young exciting new coach sounds great
This time it will be different? He won’t be worst on ground?
He’s a vfl player
He’s a plodder. Like Prior. I think a selection that won’t help us.
They still want to say they got something out of those top 10 picks
Well, it’s good to see that we spent the summer on the important things like:
Kicking to position
Handballing to your team mates advantage
Getting right up in the opponents face to put them under pressure
Forwards actually leading towards the ball
Improving our overall skill set
and most importantly
No longer just defending space.
Just a shame that we applied none of those “learnings” tonight.
Hawthorn had 140+ uncontested marks…we did not appear to make any effort to take that away from them.
But by god, I doubt there’s a better team in the competition at guarding “farken space”
I checked the stats…“space” had zero possessions tonight so we defended “space” really well.
It’s just a shame really that Hawthorn decided to kick and handball to their team mates (who we largely ignored) while we were guarding "space’
I’m not going to start bagging individuals…I’ll keep it to a few positives.
Zac Johnson will be a player.
Nup…got nothing else.
Every year I used to get sucked in by all the preseason hype however this year I came in tonight expecting nothing to change and realistically it hasn’t an in fact it’s probably just as bad as it has always been.
I don’t care if we lose, it is how we lose and tonight shows that nothing has changed.
I am just resigned to the fact that we are just a rubbish football team and I cannot see any changes occurring in the future at this point in time.
Bye Scott.
That last 15 minutes of the second quarter was some of the most rubbish effort I’ve ever seen.
What is Ange Postecogleu doing these days?
The utter tripe dished up by the players today is inexcusable. This is on the coach. When the captain of the club couldn’t be arsed to chase, what hope do the kids coming through have. McGrath is a ■■■■■■■ disgrace. I couldn’t give a flying ■■■■ how good a bloke he is. Scott should hand his ■■■■■■■ resignation in right now. We are arguablky a worse club now than we were when he got here. We have no discernible game plan. Our players look like they have no ■■■■■■■ idea what to do once they get the ball, this is all on the coach. Fiorini is a good footballer, his time at GC proved he is. How does he suddenly go to being incompetent? It is obvious they don’t know what is expected of them. Our forward line is a ■■■■■■■ shambles. I feel for our backs, the ball was coming in so freely from the midfield that they didn’t have time to react half the time. The club can kiss my fat hairy arse crack.
