Is it just me or is it strange who has been named in both the VFL and AFL sides.

Bird, Cooney, McKernan, Michael.

So one of them has to play seniors I’d imagine. But McKernan’s been named starting ruck in the seniors. Bird had a pretty good game last weekend, and Cooney should be returning after his rest?

What’s going on?

The VFL boys are going to have to win this one in the kitty litter without Essendon fans and without Francis. I for one will be at Etihad tbh.

The moral of the story is that the VFL side is named in such a way you can’t tell from it who will and won’t play in the AFL side as it never really makes sense, and that is probably the intention.

You will note they name 30 players, so it is a pretty loose squad.

I’m sure DJR will know more about how it works in reality.
