Round 2 2023 Non Essendon Games

We gave Grundy a bath on ANZAC day so that would be ideal.

Drapes has been more than competitive against Grundy, but has no idea against Max.

Enjoyed seeing Big Joe starring with 4 goals.

Hoping BT finds Rayners old man on the juice again.

I think it’s just an experience thing. Gawn has a hell of a lot more of it than Draper, and has more ruck craft than Grundy by some distance, so he’s just able to outpoint him at every turn.

Which is fine for a developing ruck. Draper will learn as he goes, and at some point he’ll be the bloke doing that to the developing rucks.

Kids these days…… won’t even cause trouble when the lights go out.

Back in my day, we’d storm the pitch and burn a point post.

I get the feeling that contract extension will come back to haunt the lions

Between the fixture, F/S and random priority picks it’s hard to take AFL serious as a world class, professional sport. When a top 4 side gets gifted a generational player such as Ashcroft or Daicos etc then any talk of equalization is ridiculous.

In Europe the best football teams just buy the best players right? That’s still world class.

Last night think the Dees showed again they have the class to roll the dice and go Collingwood/Port on a team.

Brisbane were very good, their guns all shined. But when you go into defensive mode the sudden glaring weakness Melbourne had with Gawn and May out to take the big contested marks disintegrated.

Goodwin perhaps should have realised much earlier and changed tactics or was it Brisbane losing it to let em back in?

Id love some more technical analysis of footy. The fox coverage gave us very little last night.

I don’t watch many footy shows during the week, any segments do even a half decent job of dissecting games with footage?

Last nights on pre and post blackout would be good.

Looks like we’ll be taking Melbourne or Geelongs spot in the 8

I realise we’re all extracting the urine here, though imagine Ess v Coll going into ANZAC Day both 5 and zip ?

Shame it’s an away game

Last night showed how much Melbourne need Pickett. May and Salem are big outs yes, but Pickett is the spark. He creates pressure, pace and can kick goals and lifts his team mates. Davey will also be that important to us.

You take Melbourne’s outs (including Gawn) from any team and have them play away against a contender and they will struggle.

The Lions are the big losers of the restart I think - an imposing victory ended up feeling underwhelming.

The least that the Klan could do to help me feel better from this Rona is get dicked by port

If last night makes it so the Grand Final stays an afternoon game, then well done to the GABBA.
