Round 3 Game Review - we gave the tarp a beating

I agree, because I formed many new dispositions during the game and still hold many of them, all concurrently vindicated, yet, to be determined.

Just got home. Yeah the skills were awful but we found a bit of mojo in the last quarter to complement the effort which was great all night.

Some of the comments in the match thread, seriously, including one complete flog who said that the faithful who turned up tonight deserve the loss and - wait for it - apparently WE’RE the reason the club’s been struggling. Yeah cos you see it’s the true supporters who bring the club down and the snipers who sustain us through the hard times.

We had 25k there tonight and the noise in that last ten minutes was insane. Every smother, every tackle, the crowd were on their feet roaring. So many kids in the stands who’ve never seen success and probably cop it from their mates at school. Wins like that are so important.

Screw tanking. My throat’s gone, my hands are sore from clapping (happily) and my ears are ringing and I’ve got two weeks to enjoy this win - Don the replay!

Yeah our skills were rubbish, we’ve got a loooong way to go, I know that. But this is something to build on.

Pressure, effort and intent from the start was there. Sure the skills still need polishing but if you bring the 3 things mentioned you give yourself a shot at winning any game.

I’m hoping they traded the #1 pick.

Skills def need polishing but the intent was there team wise. Good 4th quarter esp

You’re a good egg HH. Keep fighting the good fight.

Saads wife is hot

I was listening not watching, so this could be way off.

But it felt while we played with intent, the match had no intensity in the first three quarters. If that makes sense.

Then when it heated up and the game had to be won, it seemed our skills picked up with the intensity.

100%…but we were just about keeping our head above water against an ordinary side tonight in Port. They’ve fallen in a heap. Effort and a touch more class in the end told.

happy sigh
A game and 46% out of the eight.
It just feels right, doesn’t it?

It’s like sitting on top of the ladder for us

I’ve seen way worse weeks here.

Edit: caused a few of them, actually…

Even Hinkley said the points go to Durham playing on rosee and shutting him down

Well we have Bye next week.

Heres to the rest of the season being further down the ladder than we actually are.

At least come round 23 it will be easier to tank for a better pick

Or….make a charge for the 8

Just for the record, those complete twats nafan brown and volkano predicted over 178 pts aggregate because, as Kane said, Essendon alone gave up 161 last week. Of course they both tipped Port

Deadset we have a forward line of rookies, kids and an unpredictable ruckman.

I think we are doing exceptionally well
