I had a very. very. very. good source (who would know) who was adamant pre 2014 grand final (I think it was '14 could have been '13) that Clarkson was done and dusted to WCE regardless of whether or not the Hawks won or lost. Either he’d done all he could with them and they would begin a slide or he was ending it on a high.

A long way to go before anything is done but there is plenty of discontent behind the scenes. The Lewis exit was handled far worse than the club line that was trotted out and a couple of senior team mates who were very friendly with him are still filthy with what went down. Was also several multi premiership players that were asked to take very significant cuts only to have Vickery come in and earn more than some but the club lied to them initially about his contract.
I am still baffled as to why they picked up Vickery.
