PS. Buddy is a semi divine entity up there, in days gone by even if they dared suggest he lose weight he probably would just ignore them and go out and kick a lazy 6 goals the next week to prove them wrong

They look as mentally shot as they do physically. Their game style for so long has been very attritional and for those ageing warriors they have come to the end. Really need to commit to a rebuild.
Get a first rounder for buddy, hit the draft with 2 first rounders and get a gun via FA.
That’s what they need to do.

1st rounder for Buddy? At his best yes, currently no one will pay that along with his salary.
Someone who wants to pay (at 50%) $1.95M over three years for a VFL player.

I reckon if you could get Bud for <600k a season with the swannies covering the rest of his contract he’d be worth a crack. Imagine Joey and Buddy in the same forward line

There aren’t too many players to come back into the side to add value. Naismith is a genuine ruck who should help. Sinclair is more of a forward/ruck. Similar to S McKernan. S Reid isn’t impacting at HF and P McCartin is down on form as well leaving L FRANKLIN as the only viable forward but he doesn’t look to be fully fit so Sinclair forward couldn’t do worse than those other two. What they really lack is pace in the middle. If they don’t win the clearance they look very slow. Clarke was brought in to add outside speed but although he gets a bit of it, his possessions are usually in non threatening areas. No one really comes to mind from the seconds who could add a bit of speed and class. They’ve missed J Lloyd. Haywood was tracking pretty well until his jaw. Not sure when he’ll be available. Not all bad though. Aliir has been terrific. Heeney and Mills have been good. Kennedy and Parker have been good also but lack support. At least they know what areas require improvement.

$6 Million over 7 (1st year he was on rookie money, after that he’s effectively on $1M a year).
Buddy has been unfit for12 months at least. He cannot even train. Hurls humiliated him nearly 10 months ago. He is cooked.
