Round 6 v GCoast in GCoast 1.15PM game SAT 18th April [spec, and I guess game]

Great to see a turn around in form from a few senior guys like Parish/Langford/2MP against the Dees - they need to continue with this if we are to be any chance against GCoast on their home turf…Ridley back helps our defence immensely, and suddenly with we have a few tall options up forward in Edwards whose been a revelation + May/Caddy.
Dont think we will see any changes - maybe Sharp comes in but not sure for who..?? Hope we line up like this;-

Reid McKay McGrath
Roberts Ridley Farrow
Langford Tsatas Duursma
Durham Caddy Kako
Edwards May Gresham

2MP Parish Merrett

Bench: Cadlwell Robey ADW Prior Blaki

Don’t think there be too many changes.

Thought I saw something about Caldwell being inj but not sure, I thought he finished game.

Sounds like Fiorini injury actually gets worse each week so he won’t be back, and honestly I think it be good for Sharp to get some touch in VFL.

If this ■■■■ even thinks about dropping Tsatas

Our reserves (18th) play GCoast reserves (22nd) at 9am the same day
Hopefully we can get the win and it will be good to see the likes of Kondo/Gerreyn/Unwin/Nguyen/HAS & Bryan run around

… you’ll finish your sentence?

Finally a good timeslot where BNE northside residents can get home at reasonable hour. Taking CB14 to our first live game in about 3 years. Not expecting a win, however encouraging yesterday might be. Suns will be desperate after the last 2 weeks.

Early forecast for next Saturday is sunny and 31°C on the Gold Coast.

Warm for mid-April there? A little bit but not particularly.

WHY is this game starting at 1:15pm?

And it isn’t just the impact on this particular game. It’s the follow up recovery for the next game, where our ANZAC Day opponent already has an extra two days break.

My only queries would be whether you bring Bryan in for Blakiston (Witts is a beast) and potentially Sharp for a tall forward - but May would be stiff to miss.

So Bruce went over to watch VFL practice natch with Dees. Said it looked like 4 x 15 min Qtr. Nearly all senior players played that were available. Only Boston Dowling was the non EFC senior listed player out there. Ess won 63-42. Sharp he notes is training fully this morning in front of him and looks much better. So he may be right for Gold Cost

Bryan in for blakiston

Sharp in for May

Suns are lightning off half back and we will need to drop a tall

Few were asking about Caldwell and if he is ok. He is fine. No concussion and available for Suns clash

Boston Dowling..since Irving Mosquito left, we need another excellent name. Sign him up

I dont really see where sharp fits right now, its hard to see an opening. On form, durham & day wicks are ahead of him, Robey will probably get a block of games, gresham has been fine this year, and may/edwards haven’t done much wrong. You now have Tsatas coming into the midfield mix, parish, caldwell, merrett durham all rotating through there.

Caldwell broke his nose during the week. He had to be driven to and from Adelaide as he wasn’t allowed to fly. Hopefully he will be OK to fly next weekend as it is a really really long drive to Gold Coast (Road Trip anyone?).

Re Gerreyn - can someone please clarify whether he can be selected for VFL as he copped a 1 week suspension vs Bulldogs and as there was a VFL bye - does that mean he is eligible for AFL but not VFL?

I’d like minimal changes. Side looks pretty good.

what I’ll be looking for is for us to play through the horrendous umpiring(you know it’s coming when playing a game up on the Gold Coast). And spend large portions of the game playing how we want to play.

That is arrest momentum when the men in fluro inevitably hand the suns some cheapies.

How many games has Bryant played this season in the 2s?

Really hoping we can have a 4-5 week strectch were we actually play the football we did yesterday. Won’t win every one of them, but it is better than the ■■■■ we dished up the first 3.5 weeks.

The set up yesterday was fine, would only make a change if it was like for like. Definitely need quick and pressure small forwards as GC like to run off half back and transition.

No changes for mine. Tracking beautifully.

No changes.
That was our best side for the year by a fkn long way.

Sharps got 12 years ahead of him at least. A VFL game won’t hurt and he hasn’t demanded it yet.
Bryan needs a bit more time in the VFL.
