Wow… couldn’t believe how well North played. Handballing, handballing when being tackled, always being available for your team mates, always pressing to tackling or putting the opposition from kicking. Contests… the intensity and speed. It was like watching a top 4 side. How did they reach that level.

A lot of their first round picks now have a few pre-seasons under their belt.
They also have a competent coaching group.

Agree. They’ve been that bad for 6-7 years, when you pick the eyes out of every draft in that span and getting picks in the top 4-5, sometimes multiple in the same draft, that critical mass of talent will shine through. Still a way to go for them but the basis of a very good team is there.
They’ve had the odd miss, Will Phillips, picking Zane Duursma ahead of the Wizard will be talked about constantly (although I think ZD will be a player), but on the main if you’re picking there for years on end the numbers game suggests you’ll end up with a lot of high end talent.
Lohmann plays like a player who’s experienced too much success too easily for his own good. His defensive efforts have been awful.

Watson probably my favourite Hawk. not content with being a 5 goal small forward, wants to be a clearance winning midfielder too.
