Oh no... Quite the opposite.

That was the AB version of winning ugly. Wallabies the better team for the first hour but just couldn’t score. Folau was immense

Aussies just got to keep work on beating the All Blacks. Might take a couple of years for the new players to get used to international rugby Keep chipping away and wait for the NZ complacency to creep in.
Hansen won't let complacency kick in. He pulled Barrett real early and he is probably the best player in the world this year. We will get beaten because everyone does. Things change. Aussies have some good young talent, they will narrow the gap.

Not at all. Rather he's a flat-tracker and the Kiwi crowds have him sussed out.

Every time the ref called a scrum you could feel the collective groan from the Australian pack. Don’t reckon they gained an inch on the Kiwi pack all night.

How good were the series of scrims where they just couldn’t strike the ball. Amazing what happens when both packs actually do battle

Both packs would be totally ratsh*t tonight after that effort. Can't say I've seen that level of intensity in the scrum before.

Quade Cooper is a New Zealand citizen, and he plays for Australia. Right ? I believe thats why the boo him every time he gets the ball.

With respect to Q Cooper, he wouldn’t get a game in this Kiwi side. They boo him because he’s mentally fragile against N Zealand. The more they boo, the worse he plays.

I hear what you say. Heres a challenge. Name one Australian player who would get a game in the NZ side. Issy Folau, maybe, David Pocock, maybe

Both would start on the bench. Couldn’t name any others but in fairness it would be hard for any international players to crack that side.

Cooper took a couple of cheap shots at McCaw which is I think why the booing started. It kept going because it seems to impact him. Also… racism.

Also… have Cheika lost his mind? Who in public life gets offended by a comic.

Yeah. That sort of reaction though especially in rugby circles makes you a target. Much like Cooper. You have to rise above.

There were high expectations of Cheika on his appointment which became even more optimistic after the excellent start the side made under his tenure but it now appears that after the initial excitement the Wallabies are no closer to bridging the gap on NZ and have fallen back to a point where sides like Argentina now think they’re a shot. You’d think that with players like D Carter and R McCaw proving that they indeed have a merciful side by retiring would encourage the Wallabies to start thinking that maybe they have a chance but instead the Kiwi’s have shown that, to quote Muhammad Ali, that “if the Wallabies even dream of beating them they had better wake up and apologise”. Rugby has had an image problem in Australia for a long time. Here the best athletes don’t aspire to play for the Wallabies. Unlike in NZ where All-Blacks are treated as divine beings. Rugby has been in a slow + steady decline in Australia since 2001 and shows no sign of changing. And without change we won’t beat NZ any time soon. It’s a shame because high standard Rugby is a brilliant spectacle.

I think he was more annoyed because we were competitive for 60 minutes, but then were over-run

Take it as a compliment. Its actually excellent. Cheika needs to buy the signed original, frame it, and put it in his pool room.
If you get the last laugh, its a good talking point. If not, well at least it means they ironically are taking you seriously, given that we are close to second best in the world under Cheika.

Yes all true but we are still 2nd or 3rd in the world right now. Right now its the pre-eminent oval ball game in the world played in 70 countries.

We out possessed NZ for 60 minutes and were on the brink. The Aussies had a real crack. But its not good for Rugby if it becomes like the Americas Cup pre -Bond.
