There is more EU convergence and cross border cooperation ( private sector and government) in energy than in human health, including health welfare and expenditure.
We cope with water restrictions just fine. The whole farkin industrialised world should be on fossil fuel rations anyway. We used our quota of the global carbon budget about 50 years ago.
Tell putin to go fark himself .
The Zaporizhia nuclear plant is a big worry. Stocked with Russian arms and missiles launched from nearby. Reportedly the Russians have moved some of the weaponry to an engine room.
The IAEA has been concerned about safety there for some time, as yet unable to arrange a mission there. Latest news is that it is still operating.
Got it, but maybe it is I who hasn’t been explaining my point clearly.
What the FLOT and the distribution of assets in depth looks like depends on the terrain and the expected en actions based on his assessed intent. (We are assuming a rational en ). Comd and their staff at all levels do an analysis of their mission, the terrain they are assigned including water features, distances, resurces within, population, infrastructure, etc. As well as their forces (never enough,) the en intent and their forces, and also security and deception.
That estmate leads invariably to too many tasks for the forces at hand so in order to formulate plans that would address the mission many compromises have to be made.
These include what areas can we afford to leave unguarded or with minimal eyes on; what areas do we need more resources on; how early do we need to influence the en in oder to channel then into our killzone, etc.
This will invariably affect the distribution of or density of netwoked uav or control/relay stations. Terrain and weather affects that too so certain areas may require more uav or control/relay stations.
With devices and infrastructure/ support requirements goes an increased manpower and training. The tendency has always been to skimp on things to augment infantry, so the benefit has to be (somewhat) proven and well articulated in order to gather the support for the scale envisioned.
Russian hackers hacked few Ukrainian radio stations and transmitted a news message saying that Zelenskyi is in intensive care. As usual, not only fascist propaganda relied on outdated news media that are still popular within Russia, but the public address had a number of mistakes made in Ukrainian language.
From a Ukrainian.
You’d think getting the language right should be propaganda 101
To be fair, this isn’t particularly less stupid than anything you’d find on Fox or Sky.
In fact, if you told me someone said it in a hand-wringing context on either of those networks it would not surprise me one little bit.
oh, it’s exactly what you’ll see on Fox / Sky. That whole TV network is modeled on the Fox News network. It’s from the demagogue playbook.
Did you know that 17% of the population is gay?*
*we’re increasing this statistic by 0.01% every time someone gets triggered by it.
ABC had an interesting interview with an expert on Russia well before the war started and he said you need to recognise that the Russian view of the world is that they are very much superior to the rest.
I don’t think this crazy woman is the exception.
Is there some weird time paradox where Russia is stuck in a different century than the rest of us?
Russian cultural legacy not to be sniffed at, but the problem for Russian literature is that so much comes from Ukraine born, including the father of Russian literature.
This is the crux the problem, plenty of people think they are the smartest person in the room, at least on the scale that matters, and this goes for countries, cities, teams, etc thinking they are the best, but Russia is on another level.
Most of the world has realized that to benefit from trade and tourism and international relations we have to accept that others are entitled to take pride in their own achievements, their own cultures, etc, whether we think they are inferior or not. Science has proven that there’s no “smartest race” and that brown people aren’t inferior, that being gay isn’t a choice, and we all know that it’s actually quite possible to get along with neighbors regardless of their religion or sexuality.
Russia has chosen to ignore the progress the rest of the world has made in many areas, which is fine if they want to be left to their own devices, but sadly they think they are the best and have some god given right to exploit all others because all others are inferior.
I’m not sure who said it, but if Russian life is the best, I’d hate to be second.
Russian culture, sure, no issue. But on the basis of human rights it’s dragged it’s feet through history.
Eg they were the last of the European states to to cede government away from the monarchy, and even then under duress. Peasantry and feudal land ownership persisted until communist times and then really it only changed insofar that the landlords were replaced by the state.
Russians have never known democratic liberties except for brief moments in time. They have no concept of living with free press and freedom of thought.
Little wonder their thoughts are completely at odds with the rest of the democratic world.
Australian ballet owes a great debt to Ballet Russe, which got stranded here in WW2.
Ballerinas had to be persuaded to come here, to what they described as a country of convicts and kangaroos.
