Surely the radar unit can be placed in a nearby paddock and have a relay back to the Patriot battery? There will be microseconds of lag but better than losing the whole unit.

The Patriot radar system is a large portion of the cost and expense.
Youâd think theyâd have secondary and tertiary redeployment schemes in place.

The authorities clarified that a fall of debris was previously recorded in the Solomensky, Shevchenkovsky, Svyatoshinsky, Obolonsky, and Darnitsky districts of the capital.
The greatest damage was in the Solomensky district - there was a fire in non-residential premises and several vehicles were damaged. The fire has been extinguished.
In other areas, the damage is not significant - in most cases, debris was found to fall on parked cars, a house adjoining territory, or a forested area.

Thatâs an enormous barrage to take out one Patriot battery. For the network to get a 100% interception rate is a significant result.
If Patriot can hold its own and attract all of Russiaâs firepower, it means other targets donât get hit. That interception is 24 potential targets that Russia chose not to attack.
To put this strike in context, Russia has launched 70-80% of their Kinzhal ballistic missiles, with about 30-40 remaining. Russia launched 1 last week and 6 today at the Patriot battery for 0% strike rate.

Nonsense.
Very few of NATO in service items have been donated/sold. Vast majority is older stuff. There are no NATO in service personnel fighting or planning.

But also mentions video of Ukrainians loading older (1995-2000 vintage) missiles.
It was not disclosed which missiles will be delivered with these batteries,[140] although in a video released in late April, Ukrainian Air Force personel was shown operating a Patriot launcher loaded with PAC-2 missiles, with an explanation that different missile types can be loaded.[136]
The PAC-3 upgrade has effectively quintupled the âfootprintâ that a Patriot unit can defend against ballistic missiles of all types, and has considerably increased the systemâs lethality and effectiveness against ballistic missiles.
So perhaps not yet having the upgraded missiles is inhibiting the âshoot and scootâ for which they are designed?
There might be difficulties ensuring point defence against ballistic missiles of optimal set of targets within smaller footprint from alternative locations.
