Mayhem joking said he joined because of his 3rd divorce, then he said the real reason was because he wanted to make up for the wrongs he did in Iraq. He felt like it was a chance to actually help people who were being invaded. Heād gotten into a brief firefight already
When I traveled with him and his squad to the infiltration point, I could feel the tension in the air. Everyone made jokes to try to distract themselves from the impending mission.
Their squad leader the legendary @bucketdelta said the night before going to the zero line its always very difficult to sleep. He said itās a mix of excitement to do his job and fight the Russians but also nerve-wracking facing drones and shelling.
It was great meeting Mayhem and his squad. These dudes are as hilarious as they are dangerous. They were kind enough to do full interviews with me and answer all my questions about how they operate and what kind of gear and weapons they take into the field with them.

Which regions?
Dnipro and Ivano-Frankivsk. Actually it was heating, not all power. Temperatures there are below zero.

Ivano-Frankivsk is south of Lviv, bordering Moldova. Thatās a long way from the frontlines, Russia impacting not just eastern and southern Ukraine.
