Speaking of people dying

Certainly a consideration but the odds of dying remain pretty high. From the anecdotal things we see, Ukrainians are far more put off dying for the cause than Russians.
I don’t think that can reasonably be inferred. Important evidence to the contrary is 1. The numbers of people that immediately volunteered to fight (or self-organized to fight) when the invasion started and 2. the amount of Ukrainians who have already died fighting for their country, as a percentage of the total population.

“We’re flying Aeroflot. We have reservations”.
Not sure of the evidence re 1, could be correct;
2 very difficult to get evidence since Ukr casualty records are kept under lock and key.
…but anecdotally we get Russian guides to suicide, Putin saying better to die a warrior than a drunk, Russ TV pundits saying the motherland is more important than your own life, Russian statues of surrounded soldiers about to pull the pin.
The Ukrainian government appears ashamed of images of pressgangers trying to grab draft dodgers from nightclubs. Russian TV seems to love it.

Fair point and spot on.
These are the sorts of Russian manpower and equipment losses we’ve all come to expect.
I hope Mr Putin takes note of our previous week of expressed dissapointment and continues on with these heart warming, feel-good statistics.
Slava Ukraini.
Bad day at the office for the invaders.
I wonder how many of those were the NK stocking fillers.
I know I’ve said it before, probably once in every thread we’ve had on this topic, but the PTSD that is suffered by soldiers participating in this conflict is going to be horrendous
