Russia invades Ukraine - 7 - from 10 April 2025

Ukraine rewards soldiers with “points for kills” targeting Russians in a gamified system, Digital Minister Fedorov told Politico.

Soldiers get 20 points for damaging a tank, 40 for destroying it, 50 for rocket systems, and 6 per Russian killed.

Points buy drones and gear. 1/ Image

Drone unit Magyar’s Birds has earned 16,298 points, enough to buy 500 day drones, 500 night drones, 100 Vampire drones, and 40 reconnaissance drones.

90% of Ukraine’s drone units now participate in the scoring system. 2/

Soldiers upload drone footage of confirmed hits to the Delta system, Ukraine’s digital command platform.

The military uses these videos to verify destruction, allocate rewards, and update battlefield data in real time. 3/

Units trade points for weapons through Brave 1 Market, an online military supply hub modeled on Amazon.

A Vampire drone costs 43 points and is delivered to the front within a week, fully paid by the government. 4/

Fedorov: They [units] started killing so quickly that Ukraine does not have time to deliver new drones.

The program “Army of Drones bonus” is driving intense competition and pushes the government to overhaul logistics to keep pace. 5/

Kyiv adjusts point values to influence combat outcomes - raising rewards for infantry kills from 2 to 6 tripled elimination rates in a month.

Fedorov says this is a tool that shapes battlefield strategy, besides simple motivation. 6X

The best economic summary of the Russia/Ukraine conflict I’ve read yet. I can only wish that I had this kind of grasp of Geo economics and politics.

It appears even the Orange Nong is losing patience with DisPutin and his cronies.

A bit on that Crimea drone attack.

You’re gunna love this from the article:
“The latest White House party line is that Moscow and Kyiv foolishly ignored Donald J. Trump’s brilliant diplomatic and deal-making skills, so now the war and ending it is their problem.”…

I had to check the date of this article just to asure myself that France weren’t in a time warp. Nup, they’re in a time warp. Reports of NKR fighting against Ukraine have been circulating for months. Does official recognition make any difference? There’s people dying, what the fark are they doing?

JD Vance is still making lots of noise but telling us nothing new. What a numpty windbag.

A thesis on what has been learned from this war. An article for lovers of all things militia.

The Poms learning from off the Ukrainians.

I dunno. It seems charitable to me.

Finally. Hooray. Now we might actually get something done without all of the table-thumping, cajoling, grandstanding, big-noting, blackmailing bull$hit.

They’re leaving, but they’re miffed.

I’m guessing this is the reasoning behind Russia exterminating so many reporters. The guilty don’t like being reported on… It’s not a crime if no-one knows.

This US peace delegation can’t get out of town quick enough as far as Ukraine are concerned.

Russia has politely told the US to go fark 'emselves.

Given the dire strength of a NATO force minus the USA, I reckon DisPutin could militarily take Europe in just a few days. Watch out, once the Yanks pull out…

The entire EU can’t even raise a 25,000 strong army, but can produce huge amounts of ammunition if there’s money to be made. Capitalism never ceases to amaze.

It’s okay making these things (for profit), but you’ve gotta have soldiers to fire them and defend the bases where they’re emplaced.

These Russians are good for a loan.

Russia not liking those pesky Ukrainians. They keep on innovating.

Ukraine looks to have taken out a Russian helicopter with a sea USV armed with a SAM. The SAM boat was escorting a pack of one way USVs.

The fighter bomber account with inside info into the Russian airforce confirmed the loss.

Any news on the one way USVs?

Crazy stuff… you’d have to think that even a small fleet of these would be enough to protect Australia from any feasible maritime threat using existing naval capabilities.
