Good news for Ukraine - India has struck a trade deal with the US which includes requires India to stop buying oil from Russia and buy it from US and Venezuela instead.

Stop the money flow to Putin, stop his ability to fund his war.

You’d hope so, but nothing about Modi or Trump America leads me to think they won’t just keep things bubbling along quietly as they are. Russian oil on the high seas is like black market tobacco in Oz right now. “Stop selling it”. “Ok”.

If only Putin was a fan of The Goons, rather than being a total loon.

Spike Milligan’s statement “Madness is a reasonable reaction to a world where people kill each other over lines on a map” uses sharp satire to expose the absurdity of war and nationalism. Milligan a British-Irish comedian, writer and Second World War veteran often blended humour with social commentary, and here he challenges the idea that drawing arbitrary borders justifies violence and bloodshed. By suggesting that madness is a sensible response in such a world, he turns the usual judgement of insanity on its head: if human beings can slaughter one another over invisible divisions on a piece of paper, he implies, then it is the world itself that makes no sense. Rather than a literal diagnosis, the quote highlights a tragic paradox that in a society where organised killing is normalised, what we call “madness” might actually be a candid reaction to human folly.

This will be making a few nervous. A change in tactics if the SBU start trying to pop the Generals off.

And if it’s not the SBU, they will be getting even more nervous.

The SBU should put out a statement it has nothing to do with them.
