Please just play the kids now and give us something to look forward to next year. We know who needs to go. Make it happen.
Who am I kidding. Won’t happen. It should, but it won’t. Sigh……

In Hille’s defence, we were absolutely ■■■■■■ by the umpires that next week vs Sydney.
It was so bad that Troy Pannell didn’t umpire against us for several years afterwards.
Nope. Because even the blokes we have applauded this year have moments of picking a choosing effort.
HS has called us fake, fraudulent, spiritless, i think they have gone soft on us
We will get stuff picks in a trade and the ones that are worth top 10 wont get traded
You don’t get personal though or tag me and make derogatory comments in other threads when the result doesn’t go our way. Or take more delight in us losing to prove a point rather than seeing our team winning a game.
Big difference.
McGrath the cheerleader down there giving little high fives after every stuff up or dreadful effort.
That’s it. I’m done. It’s not healthy and after all we’ve been through! Enough is enough! At least start a fight and finish it!!!
What the last two seasons has shown us is plenty about the coach.
He is set in his ways, won’t learn and lacks any commitment to selection integrity, resulting in the same bunch of largely experienced players , playing the same inflexible and limited game plan, for largely mediocre outcomes.
Watching tonight’s game was like watching the game against Port early this season with a similar result and similar refusal by the coach to adjust structure or game style.
Like Port, Saints went predominantly 1:1 when we had the ball from a mark or free in our back half and we couldn’t chip the ball around - very obvious early in Q4 when Langford marked in defence and the camera shot behind him showed 1:1s everywhere. And like the Port game, we kept zoning off allowing them easy chip passes out of defence, all the way up the ground to an inevitable easy mark in F50. They must have set a record for uncontested marks.
When we went into F50 it was congested and our half-forwards roll too far up the ground as the Saints, like the Crows last week, kept their defenders back. So we were always outnumbered and couldn’t crumb a goal other than Jones to Stringer in Q2.
As the game rolled on the coach changed nothing against Port despite what the scoreboard was showing and nothing changed tonight. We wouldn’t want to be resultist, now would we Brad?
Again we won I50s (46-43) only to lose a game badly, but nothing changes like trying to play with the HFs inside F50 more.
Wright and Heppell were both dropped the previous week because of poor form. Why were they brought back without playing a VFL game to regain form? Why not play Bryan and Archie Roberts who are both in good-great form in the VFL? They have earnt their call up.
As the night rolled on, the players looked increasingly devoid of confidence. No surprise the Saints were +52 for sprints at the end as they ran harder because they believed in how they were playing and the scoreboard reinforced that belief. The same way as our players looked demoralised because the scoreboard - the only stat that ultimately counts - kept reinforcing how they were playing was wrong. We wouldn’t want to be resultist, now would we Brad?
Brad Scott is about to be tested as coach like never before. Fading away this year, like last year, is as much on him as it is on the players. The players know how he has told them to play doesn’t work against the better teams and they look demoralised and have lost their appetite for the contest. The players have seemingly lost all belief in themselves and the game plan.
The next step is for the players to lose their respect for him as coach. He has to make changes to how he selects players, the game plan and team structure to restore belief in the players. Otherwise, it won’t be just a clean out of players at season’s end, it will be a coach cleanout too, starting with Scott himself.
We’re actually gonna end up with pick 6 this year in the draft.

I am so lucky I get to ■■■■ off overseas, tomorrow, for 6 weeks.
And you’ll be back on here a week later saying they farked that up as well. ![]()
What an absolute waste of money a million bucks.
Who would pay to go to watch that sort of rubbish. What a bunch of dudds.
Brad Scott to Dodo and co “Does Menzie have a brother?”
It’s really sad to admit but i actually find the annual point that I completely mentally disengage from Essendon (I was teetering last week and am fully there now) to be a welcome relief. No more getting wound up by every bounce of the ball, just a general acceptance that we are ■■■■ and nothing will ever change. And so I get the space back to focus on things in life that are more important.
Can we start with Scott
He was hopeless and north and he’s proving what a dud he was
All is well, we’re just getting in before a Kako bid.
Yes, at the end of the year the club hands out participation medals. Going to be called the Dys Awards next year in honour of our inspirational ex capt. Well done fellas. High fives all round. Enjoy your September break.
Spot on but I’d throw Merrett into the papering crew, almost single handed won us a couple of games.
Too many passengers.
