Things are different this year. We’ve improved.
Scott called out the AFL lifestyle last year and that’s sorted now, so we’ve improved on last year. Scott won’t allow us to fall to pieces again, because he has us playing a sustainable brand of footy. We’ve improved, things are different this year.
Vozzo, Barham, Scott. The leadership is all different, and these guys… these are the guys, They will change things. They already have, because this year is different.
Why people weren’t convinced that we’d changed back in April is still mind-blowing to me. Clearly, we’ve improved. Clearly, things are different.

The dark days of 2020 and 2022 under Rutten were bad, but I think this is the lowest I’ve felt as an Essendon supporter. It’s even worse, because we’ve been played like fools this time.

Selection is killing the club and players. How you can be dropped on form, do nothing to recover from it and get a game is bananas. Same joke end of last year and caused the same attitude from players. When are they going to realise these older player are just trash and have been for a decade.

Scott had a team fail miserably last year, so he kept the same team, topped it up with some more average-to-ok players, and had another crack at finals. And failed again.
He has wasted two seasons now ignoring development and pretending that the core of this squad is good enough.
It’s not. Be interesting to see if he finally concedes that, or if we top up with more average Free Agents over the off season and ‘have another crack.’
