Who do we get at pick 4 guys?
Look where i was going was, I think the consensus would be that merrett, durham, caldwell, martin, parish, ridley, redman, mckay, draper, duursma, stringer, wright and langford is essentially the foundation of our side.
based on this year, i think mckay has proven to be significantly overrated as a player, stringer is done as a contributor, redman has established himself as a c grader at best, draper is barely passable as a sole ruck, wright completely ineffective.
so that’s 5 out of our best 13 giving us 4/5ths of fk all once again.
of the remaining 8, Ridley is getting dangerously close to cementing his reputation as a part timer, once again playing less than half a season this year and probably lessening his reputation as a player regardless.
Same goes for Parish who hasn’t kicked on from 2021 and is now regularly injured to boot. Langford who i genuinely rate seems to have caught the essendon curse as well now though hopefully it turns for him next year.
so that’s another 3 of our best down on top of the other 5 who aren’t providing much of anything.
which leaves us with maybe 5 players for us to hang our hats on being merrett, caldwell, durham, martin and duursma.
this list doesn’t have anywhere near the potential for improvement that some seem to think it does.
we’ve now clearly wasted 2 seasons dicking about with a group that is massively overrated in terms of both their current capability and also future growth potential.
If Scott and co don’t change course (and i suspect they won’t) we are staring down the barrel of another extended lean period particularly with the introduction of another expansion team.
We are just making the same mistakes on repeat that we’ve all seen before.
If nothing changes, nothing will change.

First half of the year he looked like the saviour. Not just him that’s shat the bed recently.
I can’t understand what has happened we were defending pretty decent early in year where c2c goals were less frequent now we have gone back to how it was

I am surprised there weren’t more. After a performance like that, with season on the line and a history of failing to deliver, they fully deserved that vitrol from the supporters. That 3rd quarter effort was abysmal……
The whole competition must laugh at us, we are a complete joke, a bunch of fraudulent pea hearts. Ultimately losses like that are on the players, not coaches but players. Just compete, try, give a sh&t…do something….that is totally within your control……

Seems fair, we need to play all of Tsatis, Roberts, Bryan, Hayes, Hobbs and probably Wanganeen for the remainder of the year…who cares if we lose and by how much….whose going to be watching anyway…….just get games into them and give the supporters some hope
Drop Stringer, Draper, Shiel, Perkins, Heppell, Menzie & Parish and don’t bring any of them back this year
