I think Ive worked out the one positive from Richmonds premiership… next year they’re going to have that many more members than Collingwood that these pigs cant even brag about being the biggest club anymore let alone most successful.

A truly hideous trade this week by Collingwood. Gave up a mid 20s pick (likely) in a really strong draft for an untried rookie. What were they thinking?
Their supporters hate it and experts have nfi why they did it.

at this stage it looks that way, but it could pay off like the below.
Many (external to the club) would have said the same when we listed Tippa.
Same when Adelaide traded picks for Jenkins.
But they downgraded next year’s second to third.

It is not that they took him, it is what they gave up to get him that is the question. In the trades you mentioned the cost wasn’t high for an untried player so it wasn’t an issue.
Tippa no, but Jenkins was 30’s, so not terribly cheap or expensive.
Yes, that’s my point, they weren’t bad options and no one was shaking their heads wondering wtf was going on. Int he Murray situation people are perplexed that he was worth a 2nd round pick from 2018. That makes no sense.
He may well turn out to be a good player for all we know however a 3rd round at the most would have been fine.
