Seems likely to me too. You don’t suddenly need to clear your books and use flimsy excuses like the wife moving for a short few months and give up a player for essentially cheap draft picks and pay a massive amount of salary, who is equal if not better than the one the other club was trying to keep themselves.

Also I think the more they are open about it the more it would reveal that Eddie was the main instigator in directing the club to get Beams back in the door on a big dollar, multi year contract. That is at the very centre of why they are in this mess. A big reason for the silence.
Will go down as possibly the worst trade in history. Traded out 2 x first round picks and netted no on field return and was a major factor in farking their salary cap and seeing other players be moved on.

Some of the contracts beggar belief. COVID and a reduction in the cap wouldn’t have helped, but still to clear out 3 very good senior footballers and a promising kid, get peanuts in return and for the list manager to come out and say that they were really keen to replenish the list when 2 of the guys you’re shipping out are under the age of 21, nobody is buying that BS. Ned Guy got completely owned last night in that interview by Morris and King. Trainwreck stuff, the fact Eddie and Geoff Walsh went underground was extremely strange indeed.
