Season 2024 - GWS

Article in todays Shitney Daily Telegraph
I snapped a quick photo this morning when one guy left the page open at the coffee shop

Of course he can drop 5kg, just couldn’t do it before now :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

The standards you accept are the standards you get. Essendon’s standards are abysmal. They have been for 20 years.

Load of bullcrap. Stringer did this almost every year at Essendon. Every pre-season there was an article about how he had lost a lot of weight and got super fit, only to end the season unfit, overweight and struggling with some niggle.

Yep, the true test will be if he can keep in shape through the season. But whatever, good luck to him. I enjoyed watching him at Essendon and wish him well, now hopefully Caddy fills his place and becomes a star.

are zingerboxes just ■■■■ in sydney?

STRINGER FROM THE POCKET OH BABY SLOTS HIS 5TH BOMBER FANS NOT HAPPY RICHO

I hope he kicks 50 and dominates the GF to win the Norm.

If nothing else, it will be entertaining in multiple threads.

He does look fitter at the moment, but i did wonder, how much must he eat during the season to blow out like he does? An athlete that trains multiple times a week and runs at least 10km each weekend. It’s a skill to put on weight in season.

It’s going to be mentioned all season that we gave him away for nothing.

Yep especially if he has a great year

Remember what happend with Daniher where media and commentators kept praising Brisbane for fixing him.

Same thing will happen with GWS

How many times will commentators mention how handy Stringer woud have been if we are struggling to kick goals

Nino

You worry about what media say and think way too much.
It’s meaningless.

Stringer may be able to help GWS this year, but he cannot help us.
We wanted to move him on, and the only pick offered was 53.
Therefore, that was his value.

Yeah shithouse vaule.

Say what you want about Dodo but he wouldnt have accpeted 53 at worst he would at least got another pick maybe a 2025 pick

I mentioned it at the time.
I would have liked their other pick in the 50’s as well.

Still, he’s on the wrong side of 30 and always presents as slightly out of shape.
How much more good footy does he have left ?
Probably not much.

I’m happy for Jake if he has a great year. Brought me a lot of fun watching him as a bomber.

But moving him on was unquestionably the right call given where we are at. It really didn’t matter the return.

He’ll be in the AA squad of 40 players come seasons end. May even make the final team.

He’ll probably kick 6 against us.

Still doesn’t mean we made the wrong decision to trade him
