 ah Kane, stirring the pot yet again

This Hawks love fest is reaching Carlton levels of mayo. Yes they have stormed into the 8, well ahead of expectations, but haven’t yet achieved anything (like Carlton).

Yes, Essendon are crap and Hawks have flown past us, so no need to point that out!

A lot of faith being put in the Battle/Barrass pairing. The upselling of Barrass has been next level. Battle is a plodder as well. They’ll make a difference but I don’t think next year will be a easy as this one.

I actually think Nino may be on to something with his call on the Hawks.

We will know infinitely more after next week, seeing if their run and gun game plan can stack up under finals pressure. And then again, next year will be telling too.
Theres been many teams that play a certain way and it works for a season before they are found out.

I think they are genuinely good but it will be interesting to see.

Unfortunately I think they’ve proven their strength over the past 2 months. Not only have they made it to finals from 0-5 but they’ve consistently beaten top teams to do it. Fingers crossed that they run out of steam next week but I’m not hopeful.

Remember what people were saying about Carlton after Finals last year? Barely deserved to win both games they did and barely fell into finals this year

World’s gone mad. You can’t go out for dinner now?

‘Why would he put himself in that position?’: Hawks defend Ginnivan’s night out

Hawthorn coach Sam Mitchell was aware that Jack Ginnivan was heading to a Richmond pub on Thursday night, less than 24 hours before the Hawks were set to face the Western Bulldogs in an elimination final at the MCG.

Ginnivan, 21, was pictured with a drink in hand at the London Tavern in Richmond, although the club said he was not drinking alcohol and had only a soft drink on what was a quiet night out for dinner with friends.

The star forward had sought permission from Mitchell to spend a few hours out watching the first half of the qualifying final between Geelong and Port Adelaide.

“He was out for dinner and home by half-time of the game. Sam knew about it and had no issues,” a Hawks spokesman said.

Ginnivan posted a photo of a cup of tea to X at home at 9.13pm.

His night out was a source of debate as it came almost a year after the then-Collingwood player spent grand final eve at the Moonee Valley races ahead of the clash against the Brisbane Lions. In his post-match press conference, Magpies coach Craig McRae said Ginnivan had not “read the room”. Ginnivan was later traded to the Hawks.

Port Adelaide premiership great Kane Cornes, now a prominent commentator, on Friday questioned why Ginnivan had again allowed himself to become an unwanted distraction for the club.

“The Jack Ginnivan thing fascinates me. I don’t know why he would put himself in that position and cause a distraction,” Cornes told SEN on Friday*.*

“He’s caused us to be talking about this now. Why would he think it’s a good idea, after what happened before the grand final last year, to go to a pub? Now, he’s done nothing wrong here. He’s out until 9pm, he’s home before half-time – but to put yourself in this position, what’s the risk-reward here?”

The Hawks will play in their first final since 2018 when they line up against the Bulldogs before what shapes as a crowd of more than 90,000.

He’s such a dumb ■■■■ for stirring the pot like this. Watch him pull the mental health card once his form drops and the media rightfully get stuck into him.

He’s 100% right to call out these media fkwits trying to make controversy out of nothing.

He’s not calling them out. He’s playing along with it. He’s feeding them. Thats how social media works. Back and forth back and forth.

Makes sense, game really is in the ■■■■■■■ toilet

this is what happens when you invite people to ridicule you on social media by goading them on. if you live an anonymous life, you will not cop the heat. its pretty simple, its got nothing to do with the game, its just the way society is heading.

The football media has been freely cultivated and actively encouraged by the AwFuL

Couple that with the fact that 90% of society is just-climbed-down-from-the-trees levels of idiot and lap this sort of ■■■■ up…

I reckon he feeds off it. Good luck to him I say.

I’m sure he does, but the flipside of that is that there should be no acceptance of him crying poor when his form drops and he ends up copping it.
