Season 2024 - Hawthorn

FMD

Utter jealousy. That’s what I feel about this club. How can a club make all the right decisions and we make none?

They dont have any superstars either.

Shows that a well drilled team of good players is all you need.

Shows what can happen when you back in youth

Your senior players play well

Your club has a clear focus on their goal and how they are going to achieve. And everyone works together to make it happen

The ■■■■■■■ Tarps have also played in 5000 finals after being top 4 and won zero flags in that time.

■■■■■ want to pile on us, outside of the Cats, Hawks and the Cola’s, everyone is ■■■■ (bar the Tigers who are now ■■■■ again)

hawk-tuah ball

We deserve every pile on we get. When you can’t win one single final in 20 years you absolutely deserve to be the butt of everyone’s jokes

I love their attitude on field. Love the goal celebrations and post game selfies.
Would be absolutely over the moon if Essendon was in that position… Organisating accommodation in Adelaide for a semi final.

At least it’s very cost effective being an Essendon supporter.

Hopefully our lads had a good time last night at the game. Must be nice just watching from the stands knowing your summer holidays start early every year

Tactically Beveridge is a complete spud of a coach so it doesn’t surprise me they beat the bullies. How you couldn’t have a plan for Sicilly, in that first half he killed them…they say don’t get beaten by what you know, fmd Beveridge you spud!

The Hawks look pretty irrepressible at the moment, with such an even year they could go all the way, confidence is a big thing….probably the cats, swans and Giants pose the most threat, mainly because there coaches will be trying to work out how to take away The hawks strengths, we will wait and see.

For the bullies, I’d move Beveridge on. I don’t think he is that great a coach and think that flag was built mostly on the work of McCartney. Bontempelli is possibly the best player in the comp but rarely turns it on in big games, very disappointing last night again, can’t remember too many great finals performances from him in recent years. All in all that was a pathetic effort from them last night

Beveridge reads a weather forecast about as well as Midtable Brad. Way too tall for those conditions. They looked slower and slower the longer the game went…

I think it was during trucks second year that they rejigged the hangar to have murals of Essendon people/ teams and they took photos of the team post win alltogether as a group enjoying themselves which they put on social media.

It was a small thing but I really liked this at the time. I think it’s important for young people to feel like they are a part of something and that the people around them are publicly endorsing and proud of what they’re achieving.

The selfie thing I hate because it’s Hawthorn, but little things like that, allowing players to be proud of their success and to celebrate it in their own way is important culturally. I also like that the older guys like bruest and Gunston want none of it and that’s just accepted by the younger cohort. Its not forced, it’s organic and the enthusiasm that these little things foster is infectious.

They play energetic reckless footy and live and breathe that on and off the field. We play corporate, HR footy and live and breathe that off the field.

I can’t help but feel that the hawks guys see themselves as footy players first and everything else is secondary. So much of our leadership appears to take the oppositse approach.
