Season 2024 - Hawthorn

The new site is nowhere near the bay, it is not far from Moorabbin airport.

cant help but feel the hawks may slide next year, mitchell appears to have lost control of the party boys , good time ginnivan appears to be rubbing off on the other hawks youngsters

It’s quite high there (man made) and the surrounding land is flat looking down towards the Mornington peninsula. It’s does have a nice outlook, you also get a good look at the Dandenongs in the distance.

Hopefully they don’t get double-paid to go back to Waverley, as the Saints were!

And right now he’s in the U.S partying with our boys.

Do we know who went from EFC?

All the lads.

Poor bloke must’ve walked under a ladder at some point in his life

A F1,F2 and F3 for a WCE full back past his prime.
Jaw dropping.

In context though, Hawks have played it pretty smartly still though as they’ve made sure they still have a first and second round pick next year by executing that trade with Carlton and also a fourth from West Coast. So they head into next year lacking only a third rounder. They get Battle on board without giving up any draft capital too.

I agree there is a chance of this. I suspect mitchell gave them license to play freely and enjoy footy in 2024. The difficulty comes when they introduce a more disciplined team focus and sharpened emphasis on required roles which are necessary to win a flag. This might cause second guessing and destroy the free but risky ball movement which was characteristic of the 2024 team.

Its sort of like this was the “Baby Hawks” year, but unlike 1993, they didnt get the flag. Remember how it took another 6 seasons for us to get the next flag?

Hawks must reckon they are in the window.

Season 2024 suggests they are. Hopefully it was a one off!

Can some one explain to me how they are a flag contender with the bookies.

If we rise up the ladder and win a final next year does that make us a flag contender in 2026.

Did you watch them at all this season Nino?

I watched a few of their games but not the whole season

I think they will be a good side but too early to call them a flag contender imo

They missed a preliminary final by under a goal despite starting the season 0-5.

I can see why people would take a gamble on them winning a flag next year.

Fair enought but next year they will get a tougher draw and teams will be better prepared when they face them i think they caught teams by surprise we shall see

Nino still struggling to understand Hawthorns rise back up the ladder.

They ended the year with the 4th best % in the competition, they reached a semi and nearly made a prelim, they have a good young list that is actually exciting to watch after they went hard rebuilding and has a ■■■■ tonne more growth to go, and they have seemingly a really ■■■■■■■ good coach that gets the best out of his players and is implementing a fairly decent game style.

Shock horror they are looking primed to being good again and expectations have risen for them.

Deal with it. They overtook us. So do most clubs.
