Nope. He is done for the year, wrapped in cotton wool and mothballs.
“Hipwood’s scans did not intend to identify the tear, instead looking into his calf concern, meaning it’s likely the 2024 premiership star has been playing with the injury for some time. Edmund stated, however, it is unclear how long the 26-year-old has been playing through the injury.”
Probably just as well. Strapping him up and sending him out to play again, runs the risk of serious injury. Now the injury is known, doing so would be a breach a duty of care to the player and leave the club open to being sued.
Day is too slow and #22 is still very raw. They badly need a 2nd tall forward to bring ball to ground. Their tall stocks are very thin. If Payne was fit they’d probably send gardner forward.
Funny you say that, my dog did 2 acl’s and I was going to pay a lot for surgery for him, then I saw online just leave it and it repairs itself and is less stressful for them. Both times they came good within about 6 months, so yeah maybe a human acl is the same.
I can’t believe they picked up Sam day, the guy is terrible. Casboult was also already in qld and getting games for the suns in his last year and can actually mark it. Yeah he was not a star, but was a 10x better player than Sam day. It will cost them a flag choosing that dud as their Joe replacement, apparently it was dew’s recommendation .
Maybe bring in Big O and play a ruck forward and bring in Conor for one last dance. I don’t think Suns can be competitive v pies, so hoping Lions win and then beat pies at the G.
Out of interest, Matt Sharenberg played on the weekend for Olinda after rupturing his ACL a fortnight ago.
Due to play in the granny against Wandin this week.
