Season 2025 - Melbourne

Everyone here is assuming Tassie goes ahead.

Until it’s confirmed it’s not going ahead, I’m assuming it comes in.
Regardless of what a report says.

Until the team literally runs out to play, I’m assuming it isn’t going ahead

True

Stadium will 100% not be ready by 2928 though so I guess the AFL will have to cave in and let them play at existing grounds

Haha good one

There’s more pointing towards it coming in than not.
You’d be stupid as an opposition club not to assume they aren’t coming in.
You’d be planning for them being involved and if it does tip over (which is a possibility, not an exact) then it’s a bonus.

I really don’t care whether they come in or not.
But until it’s announced otherwise, I’m fine to assume they’ll be in.

As far as Buckley is involved, I’m sure he’s fine to keep working at Fox and making his decent amount of money doing that if Tasmania doesn’t make it through.
Four years ago he was a bum. Now a good percentage of teams would love to have him as coach. The longer he’s away from coaching, the better he looks. Simpson is in the same boat. Hinkley will be there too.

Erica Betz will probably still be around.

Melbourne couldn’t find a polo shirt for him to pose in?

Chaps don’t let chaps appear in public like that.

Board must be split on the appointment.

Petracca has officially requested a trade out. No club specifically stated.

This is how it’s done Zachary. Grow a spine and request out.

There is a lesson in a press release that balanced strength but not snookering yourself by putting out a position you can’t walk back.

Take note big bad welshy.

I think it can be walked back if/when Merrett actually requests a trade though.

That’s the key difference. Petracca has actually requested one.

I have no problem keeping the no trade stance until we get an offer we’re prepared to accept.

They are fluffy words for nuffy supporters. That’s all.

It is sad that Melbourne can show up our board so easily when they’re a basket case as well.

Petracca went about things a lot more professionally than Merrett. Also Melbourne did hold him to his contract last year.

He also had 5 years on his contract remaining

We have no idea if Petracca met with other teams or coaches.
