Season 2025 - Port Adelaide

It was weird seeing just how average he was once he reached the AFL. I played against him throughout my juniors footy, and he was by far the best player in our age group in the EDFL at the time (which also included both of the snakes, Joe and Saad).

The decision to take advantage in the 2017 Grand Final is one of the worst non-EFC fark ups I’ve ever seen in a big game. Richmond got ontop from that moment on, and never looked back

I think perhaps a lack of physicality probably saw him found out a bit transitioning from underage footy to the big time. He always seemed a bit soft and a bit of a panic merchant. Nothing symbolised Gold Coast’s desperation more in that ordinary Stewy Dew era than them handing a 5 year deal to him lol.

Speaking of players who are, relatively speaking, s0ftcocks, I see Lukosius is injured AGAIN. Great first year for him at Port after more or less giving up a first rounder for him.

I think there is a few Port supporters here that think the club is playing games and that over the next few weeks several more players will be “rested” or have “niggles” as they are starting to book them in for surgery

Wines, Bergman and Aliir all scheduled for surgery and will be “rested” in the coming weeks

Why? They don’t have a first round pick.

Could still be as simple as getting surgery done now for important players so they hit the ground running for pre-season.

Probably worthwhile even without a first round pick, they don’t have anything to gain at this point by continuing to play them.

Get them for and ready for a big pre season. No point waiting until end of season

Presser announced for 1pm today.

Media has been going with the whole Ken narrative but my mail is that Boak is pulling the pin and having a farewell game this week.

If so it’s a sad day for them and he is a pretty decent bloke. Pity he didn’t get to 400 after what he has done for them as a club and he is a big part of why they stayed alive in the comp

What came of it?

Pushed back to tomorrow.

Have a feeling that GWS and Ward announcement took them by surprise

I doubt that.

Port called a 1pm presser at 9am

GWS announce Ward retiring

5 minutes later Port push back presser until tomorrow. Sounds like someone didn’t get the memo

Port aren’t going to postpone sacking Hinkley because Callan Ward announced his retirement.

I’ve already said my mail is that it has nothing to do with Hinkley and it’s about Boak retiring

Boak has always been a class act.

Huge effort to get to 387 in a non Victorian team.

A true team player sticking with port through dark times, sort of bloke I’d love to have with us
