Hawks pretty much pushed him out the door
Sorry, you’re right… the other way around. It was he that was reluctant, not the Hawks, wasn’t it?
Yes. Reports were that he was devastated when Hawks traded him.
good riddance you ■■■■■■■ scumbag
Rioli retires too
Rioli is a flog. Glad to see the back of him and his death threats and gatorade
Laters Willie, flog
Willie probably given the ultimatum of football or donuts.
And fair to say he went for the donuts about 2 months ago
I reckon Burton was just about the only player who I saw match up against and beat peak Dustin Martin. And he did it more than once, as far as I remember.
Surely someone will pick him up?
Far too many soft tissue injuries. Maybe a club will take a punt on him but a 28yo who can’t string more than a few games together before injury wouldn’t be in high demand
Is it just this season that he’s been injury-prone? I see he played 83 games in the four seasons from 2021-24. Other issues?
I was always pretty impressed by Burton when I saw him play. No superstar, but reliable, consistent, good size and a good kick.
Reckon his first or second year at Port he missed over half the year then he had 3 pretty good year where he played most and then the last 2 he has got worse. Only played about half a dozen this year and always breaking down and niggles. He was never quick but he has lost a yard or two of pace so is like treacle now and I reckon he’s a bit of a butcher by foot not to mention I reckon he can be prone to shirk the odd contest. I personally wouldn’t even consider him
Wonder if he has worked out where Archie Roberts lives yet.
Yes, but apart from all that, what do you think of him as a player?
5 years go I would have said yes but injuries have taken their toll. I’m not sure he gets another go at it
Port are picking up Will Brodie from Freo for a packet of chips and will also bring in Jacob Wehr from GWS as a FA
To be fair, he isn’t worth much more than that.
What if the bag of chips contained a Tazo?
Caleb Sarong and Andrew Brayshaw as a starting point for negotiations, with an expectation Fremantle also stump up a first round pick.
I legit thought he was delisted 3 years ago.
