Scott in his presser said that he didn’t know about the Rioli comments at the time.
He’s asked the players and the players want the issue to remain on the field and don’t want anything escalated. As far as Essendon is concerned, they’ve moved on.

Afl very clearly crafting a narrative of Willie being the victim here.
In general terms, socially, culturally and historically, he his a victim, but turning situations like this on their head contributes to crowds of people booing. They’d want to be very careful about this.

After multiple acts of on-field thuggery over the years (striking Ridley, Nathan Murphy and many others), multiple threats to players safety outside of the game itself (the Bailey Dale one being the worst as it was delivered post game), and riling up various supporter bases (Hawthorn and even West Coast who he left after they stuck by him despite being stupid enough to tamper with his urine sample) it will definitely be racist if he were to get booed.

Apparently the threat he made in our game was telling Archie Roberts he knows where he lives and he’ll be coming round to get him and his family. Willie preceded to yell out a wrong address
