Now I’m depressed.
Lions should hire Buckley.
Then sack him one year in.
His mum and brothers and sister are all still living in Tassie, so come back down Chris in some capacity with the Devils ![]()

Kids and 4 grandkids in Melbourne, he’s not going anywhere but Melbourne
Return of the Messiah.
How many coaches really retire? Wouldn’t be many.
2 of Dodoros recruits just won a flag. Maybe it wasn’t all his fault
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
RFK’s recruits*
You are Adrian yeh?
And probably 100 more of them were delisted before playing 50 games.
Maybe Fagan could come out of retirement and become deputy head coach in addition to our stellar panal
Queenstown’s finest
I had no problem with Draper winning and celebrating a flag, but that was a week ago. He’s legit taking the piiss now. Has anyone in sport history celebrated something they had fk all to do with, harder than Sam Draper is celebrating this flag? I bet his teammates are thinking the same too.
I unfollow any player that leaves us, either by delisting/trade/retirement whatever, the day it is announced.
Very soothing and satisfying.
Draper did finish 9th in the B and F which suggests he played a good part.
He left at the perfect time.
They just got into the top 4 this year, got smoked in a final and won by the skin of their teeth in the Prelim and GF.
Some warning signs for me, I feel like the tank will run empty as far as contending next year.
Not sure the players will have the hunger to see them through the season.
Theyve played an obscene amount of games the past 5 years making Prelims and Grand Finals.
Losing Fagan might also have an impact. He has been as much a spiritual/emotional support as he has coach.
That’s not to say that whoever takes over won’t be good, but Fagan was integral with the playing group so it may have an impact not having him around them.
Agree with this.
They looked as vulnerable as they ever have at times this year. Harris Andrews got found out a few times, which we’ve rarely seen before.
They have just won the flag which they really didn’t have much right to win with 4 minutes left. It felt to me like one last herculean effort.
They’ll be thereabouts again with the opportunity to string together 4 in a row.
I’d be surprised if they parachuted in a hanger on like Buckley or Goodwin through.
Nobody external deserves the opportunity to be part of what brissy has in front of them next year.
I reckon they go with Daly.
