Season 2026 - Collingwood

I love Pendles, he’s a pleasure to watch and deserves to finish the way (and where) he wants to finish. That said, other than $$$$, I’m not sure GC are going anywhere anytime soon. Seems an odd choice. Also, Dimma may well get the arse within that 4 years.

Collingwood didn’t want him though. They never offered him a contract.

They can hold the record for most moments that friends tell Filth supporters they are no better than us, they’re worse!:rofl:

Hearing about a lot of very upset Collingwood nuffies that forked out 6months of their dole payments to buy a SP433 commemorative pubic hair. Apparently they are regretting not putting it towards their next bail payment.

Do not be surprised if he goes to GC if pendles is coaching there if hardwick is let go

Blew up a part of his Collingwood legacy for what 15 games at the Gold Coast

I’d be gutted if Hird in 2007 up and left to play a handful of games at another club.

Football world has gone insane. Pendlebury is a Collingwood player. Very sad, especially after his record breaking game party.

I also reckon it says a lot about Gold Coast. It’s easy to go there and doesn’t feel so traitorous because they are just a fake franchise. Going to Essendon or Richmond or Geelong would have been too real for him.

Stay classy Pies fans.

Nobody cares that Hodge, Mitchell, and Lewis played for another team. They are all considered Hawthorn champions. Pendlebury will always be a Collingwood man regardless of this on ramp into coaching at the Suns.

just wait till Hird coaches St Kilda to back to back flags in 2028 and 2029

Collingwood fans wouldn’t boo a champion would they? Surely not!

They also didn’t commercialise the hell out of their career before departing, arguably sucking member’s pockets dry. Hodge is the only one of those 3 that compares. He went to a basket case of the club.

Yep. It’s a good move for Pendlebury and Collingwood, but a very tough pill to swallow for the majority of Magpie fans.

I can’t believe the pies kept it quiet I guess they had a job to focus on.

He won’t be playing away games

I get the whole parochial thing with football teams but good grief if anyone shouldn’t be booed for leaving…

How much more exactly could fans expect him to give that club?

If pendles is caught holding the ball 5x in Q4 and the ‘independent’ umpires call play on, the B&W army will make us look tame.

The guy is 38 ffs, there were signs his obvious footy IQ can no longer be supported by his body. He was already slow, his reactions are slowing, this season he was a master of playing the loose man in the guts waiting to receive the ball from others and his disposal is still excellent, but was being rested every couple of games. He is now allergic to contact and will be injury prone from this point on.
He probably has a great future as a coach, so thats probably the really smart part of the Suns deal.

Collingwood will be dangerous next year with Perryman, Elliot, Maynard and Moore back from injury, then add Neale.
