You know when he showed aggression and what happened. Perhaps that switched off the mongrel option. Much like when Walla poleaxed a Crow one Docklands night.

I was determined not to renew Membership, and was going to not attend any games and even cancel Foxtel. Then I got sucked into the hype of the draft and new president and all the rest of the BS.

I was bullish until I started watching practice sessions and games, nothing has changed at all. As @westozziebomber posted a couple of weeks ago, our defence is fragile, and there is no backup for Mackay, Reid or Ridley.

Forward line is worse, as both 2MP and Langford need to be at their absolute best every game, and that is not going to happen, while Caddy and Kako are young and have some ability, Caddy has not shown much in preseason to give me any confidence.

Our rucks are just poor, and relying on Bryan who has played 20 or so games in 6 years at the club is laughable, and the rest are plodders. Duursma and Fiorini would struggle to a game at most clubs, and our midfield apart from Merrett and Durham are not consistent at all.

We should beat Richmond and maybe West Coast, but cannot see us beating anyone else even the Kangas. Wooden spoon is a strong possibility. Worst I have felt about a season since 1976.

Damo prediction, who gives a fark what that flog thinks

If we back Blakiston, if the head coach drinks the Kool-Aid and develops an imagination, we’ll win the Flag. Otherwise…

I think you are being over dramatic we probably thought the same too last year before round 1.

We started the season 6-2 last year not saying it will happen again but you never know what can happen.

Well Nino, I am coming closer to end of life, so I have some right to be “dramatic “.

My real gripe is that we have seen no change in the way we play. 2MP still drops most marks, Caddy still runs under the ball, Parish still has poor disposal, Redman still goes missing, McGrath is a panic merchant, and these are our better players. Ridley is injured amongst others now it seems.

Even superstar youngsters cannot carry a Team, and our new boys may be good but superstars ?

I am finished overrating the list, and the coaching group is very ordinary as well. I doubt the VFL side will win a game.

Fair enough hope you live a long time mate

This seems spot on to me.

I agree with everything you said except the vfl thing. They will win a fair few games.

Pretty much everything you said i agree with. All of leaders and senior players ars the same guys who have failed us time and time again but i must admit this is the least stressed ive gone into a season. 2016 vibes

We know we are going to suck, but most weeks we will be watching a young team, guys like caddy, kako, roberts, huss, johnson, kondog, nguyen, sharp, farrow etc will be exciting to watch. I expect the same old stuff from guys like redman, parish, mckay, 2MP, ridley, perkins, duursma etc.

Enjoy watching the kids. We are bottom 4, but we will knock someone off at some stage we shouldnt.

Hope that is correct but the list looks bare.

If I was coach of the senior team, then I would be playing all the list under 22 every week for the first 10 weeks. There are 18 of them, plus Reid, Cox, Durham, Merrett and Caldwell. Everyone else plays VFL and if we don’t win all the VFL games then we should delist them all.

I know that is ridiculous but we need some visionary changes to the way we think.

I just can’t see how anyone with football knowledge would have us finishing this high.

If we have a good injury run and everyone is fit and firing I can see us finish that high but yeah I don’t see it

I have us finishing between 14th-18th

Or thr crows 10th. Some spicy takes on that list!

A Brisbane/Gold Coast GF, huh?
Good times…

If clubs massively improved in one off season by retiring the old blokes for draftees Richmond and North would have been top 4 teams.

We are a weaker side this year Draper, Sheil,Laverde, Goldie and Lav out, joining Heppel, Kelly and Stringer from the year before. The kids are exciting but we have an overall worse list because of it and kids take time lots of it.

We will be rubbish this year, I reckon 17th and I don’t expect it to get better quickly, a few more senior players will depart at the end of this year.

We are finally at a spot where it doesn’t matter if we think Essendon swagger is all we need, we’re halfway through a proper rebuild and there’s no sugar hits available to stuff it up.

Yep, last year is a great example of people who were being pessimistic in the pre season, being proven wrong.

We’re fked.

And the season will finish in a spectacular explosion of sh-t like we do best culminating in the coach being removed, more players asking for trades (not that we have any players of worth worrying about) and another off season where the best players we can attract are middle rung players at best.

Assh— club.
