I’m pretty sure Clarkson said he’s now done with football and wants to pursue other things in life, anyway.
It’d also be odd to appoint someone to that role when his former employer said words along the lines of we are sacking him because he doesn’t coach modern football.

North fans feel the same way about Rawlings. He’ll need to be moved on for them to have any sustained success, otherwise their ceiling will be a first week exit.

Hodge was saying Zane Duursma told the club that if Clarko was there next year he wouldn’t be.
If you’re making decisions based on Zane Duursma saying things like that, just hand in the keys.
He’s nowhere near good enough to be making ultimatums like that lol. I’d have laughed at him and told him to just find a new club.

Yeah, it wouldn’t surprise me if he now stayed at North, but then again he might want to know who the new coach is before committing to them…
I actually thought they were slightly underperforming even before Clakko was sacked. I think they have some genuine strengths in the list & with the top up of Darling, Parker & Daniel all performing pretty well its a list I personally rate at about 8-10. Xeri was close to be the best ruckman in the league at stages & Sheezel is a star. LDU at his best is exactly the type of powerful mid we’ve craved since Jobe & I think Wardlaw has star potential if he can stay fit. Up forward I rate Larkey & Curtis is probably better than any small forward we’ve had this century bar Tippa. Again Darling is a solid 2nd forward & I don’t know if its only against us but Zurhaar always looks dangerous. I think he played a bit in the backline but again I think he’s a player who has more ability than Clakko could get out of him. McKercher seemed to take a big backward step this year after looking really good in 2025. They are weak down back & the new coach will have to focus on that area 1st & foremost.
They are the club I’d focus on pretty strongly to hopefully pry out a player who is about to break out. Maybe thats Duursma or maybe even a guy like McKercher might want out. We aren’t going to get much of value out of strong clubs but Nth, GC, GWS & StK are the clubs we can still sell whatever might be left of “big Melbourne club” lure.

Ballsy decision by North and some pretty stark messages from very revealing comments about why Clarko has been dumped.
Suspect they have made the right call even if Clarkson will clearly feel wronged. I think he has navigated them through the worst of it too.
Agree, but I think very poorly timed. 6 weeks ago would have been better, or part way into next season.
Interesting to see how they go next year.
Ridley really want to go this club? They’re more volatile than us!
