That was after WADA appealed the AFLDT decision that cleared the players. It was obvious then that no matter what the evidence was WADA was going to get a conviction. Abandoned by the club and the AFL the players lost heart. And Hird as McLachlan said had done nothing wrong but the scandal needed a face. Hird would have been a good coach and still would be.

Isn’t social media a beautiful place where faceless people say what they want and get away with it. That’s not a good thing I say. It’s a scourge in society broadly and shouldn’t be endorsed.
