Comes down to who is authorised for it to be shared with I guess.
Obviously if you have to take a drug test for your job, you’ve authorised the doctor to share that information with them.
The AFL is a little different with the various levels, so noone can answer that without seeing the agreements.
There were CEO’s complaining and wanting to be more informed/involved not long ago, which Id say would indicate that they’re not allowed that information currently.
it has been an interesting few weeks that’s for sure.
prior to it happening, there were a fair few comments on here that people wouldn’t begrudge merrett leaving to chase success.
he then does that, and then people turn on him, and use whatever justification they can to lay the boots in as much as possible.
as you say peoples biases kick in and then look for anything to validate that and continue the pile on, and feel justified in it.
then more information comes out, as you say that shows the “stability” line was yet another lie from the club, and infact things aren’t as rosey as they make out to be, and maybe merretts concerns have more value than people want to admit, but still will continue with the pile on cos he dares to want to leave.
and then i go back to, most people on here will probably admit that the club is and has been poorly run for so long, ironically as we post in the “something seriously wrong “ thread on it’s way to 50 k posts, but will then revert back to it’s all merrets fault.
The biggest irony for me however is, is the conduct those have done to merret, not the exact same conduct that people criticise the media when they went after this club during the saga ? bits of half truths here, stories blown way out of proportion to get clicks and bait people, the truth is irrelevant to creating a narrative that again as you say suits peoples own bias’s.
All i hope is this shitshow finally wakes up enough people that the club is well and truely ■■■■■■ and needs people to finally stop with the self serving pr bullshit spin they try and con people with, and finally take a good hard collective look at themselves and the club.
Sadly i don’t see this being rock bottom however.

The AFL is sending mixed messages. First we tell our players to take drugs and we get in trouble, then we tell them not to take drugs and we get in trouble. Which is it?

Melbourne fell apart because of this culture, after winning the premiership. Similarly Western Bulldogs, threw away the opportunity win a 2nd flag with that group.
Collingwood historically known for this but they are always up there. Hawthorn has similar issues with this group, which could explain the mid season drop off.
Even through our worst, we were never in the news for this. So when we finally thought there was so much changes put in place and had a big culture shift. Finally we were made to believe players are living an elite professional lifestyle… there appears to be an issue.
Some players who take drugs obviously got a butt hurt hence they reported it.
Oh look, a drug story with no evidence of drugs.

Yeah, ridiculous demands that just wastes everyone’s time. Some just got sick of his antics and the whole win at all costs put some offside too. Just a combination of things and it’s noticeable now how many have said they have a good relationship with Rosa and I’m sure we will see far better trading going forward if he’s allowed to do his thing without interference
