Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 4, August 2024)

Our board loves to have a say on all parts of the club…. Especially areas they zero expertise in.

Just so we’re clear what are the parts they do have expertise in again?

Making bad decisions…
Appointing shithouse coaches…
These are things they are expert in.
World class.
Positively unrivalled.

We also haven’t heard a word from the New CEO.

How the fck can you appoint a new CEO (from the Board), and not hear a fcking thing?

Do these clowns realise they answer to the members?

Don’t waste your time. Serial offender who has been called out multiple times. Guess it just shows how dumb he is - goes along with the calibre his posts.

Efforts or effort ?

I actually think the club has done the right thing. One, it wasn’t Hird and two, it’s an internal appointment so we won’t get the usual nutcases in here claim that he’s “aN AfL pLaNt!1”

Unlike the real AFL plant

This is the brother of Zac Merrett. We do everything Zac wants.

Thanks effort

It wasn’t that remarkable. Jogged a bit.. ran in some wavy lines. Laid a tackle.

The macafee promo was good, no need for him to be involved though

The punk promo was absolute garbage

I have no doubt that’s true.

I reckon the Saga players were all given very lucrative play at all chance contracts. Hence the whole Myers had to drop himself.

The problem is creates disunity when the selection doesn’t match the performance.

One reason why the club is languishing is because it has become too risk averse for its own good. Risk aversion has a price as the Democrats in the US now understand. The club was spooked by the saga and lost their sense of innovation. There were mistakes in the Sheedy era but no one could assert that Sheedy was not innovative. That’s what we lack now.

I follow Lincoln City in League One in the UK that have dome well with a small budget. The key to their success is innovation as this story from the BBC suggests.

We need to bring this type of culture to Essendon.

I love the coaching choice, I dont understand why in the AFL we dont recruit from non traditional pathways more often.

Look at Fagan he didnt play AFL but came through the ranks and is one of if not the best coach in the league right now, another who I am big on is Murray Davis he didnt play at anywhere near the highest level and came through from coaching reserves sides called the Zillmere eagles went onto coaching NT thunder to runner for the lions too assistant coach to director of coaching at the Crows. That is background of just winning and hardwork to get where you need to be
