Songs you haven't heard in years (Part 1)

Another slice of quintessential Swedish pop from that time, complete with Frida on backing vocals.

Always think of this song when the grand tours are on and Movistar riders are in the action! Must say I didn’t remember the kooky dance moves!

Am wondering if the dance moves are meant to be a comical take on the old days of Hollywood, that’s all I can come up with!

I’m very familiar with this song, but never knew this fact… interesting…

I only discovered it in more recent years, sounds obvious once you know!

I’d love an album with uncredited (at the time) backing vocalists.

This one.
Gold.
Screaming Jets.
Angelou.
Kid Fears (Indigo Girls with Michael Stipe)
Near Wild Heaven, I guess.

Backing vocals, not a duet, so no Don’t Give Up.

I’m sure there’s lots of other cool songs that don’t come to mind readily.

Lol! NOT Somebody’s Watching Me, though.
Screw that.

You’re So Vain (Mick Jagger)
Fame (John Lennon)

I’d completely forgotten You’re So Vain.
We’ll throw Whatever Gets You Through The Night on there.

Not sure what the credits were but I like this interesting story to the recording of sympathy for the devil - which the Stones started out recording like a Bob Dylan folk song!

ā€œAnother crucial addition to the song came from Keith Richard’s girlfriend Anita Pallenberg – previously Brian Jones girlfriend – stopped by the studio.

ā€œAnita was the epitome of what was happening at the time. She was very Chelsea. She’d arrive with the elite film crowd,ā€ says Stones producer Jimmy Miller.

After 32 takes of the folk rendition, they gave it a spin with a Samba beat and Anita Pallenberg began singing ā€œWhoo-whooā€ in the booth. The Stones immediately took a shine to it and eventually recorded the part as a gang vocal with Palenberg, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman, Marianne Faithfull and Jimmy Miller.ā€

Also, were James Taylor and Linda Rondstat credited for Heart of Gold?

I had no idea about that!
Edit: see, this is why we need an album.

I think John Lennon and yoko ono might have been part of the backing vocals for sympathy in the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus (one off special), as well.

Jean-Luc Godard’s 1968 movie ā€œSympathy For The Devilā€ (aka ā€œOne Plus Oneā€) documents the evolution of the song with some wonderful footage of the band in the studio. The rest of the film is crap, alas.

Mick and Keith did back-up vocals on The Beatles’ ā€œAll You Need Is Loveā€ while Lennon and McCartney did the same on the Stones’ ā€œWe Love Youā€.

Ok I’ve not seen that. Will have to remember to look it up.

Another couple:
INXS - Original Sin (Daryl Hall)
(UK) Squeeze - Tempted (Elvis Costello)

Is Oates on Electric Blue?

Yeah, he is, but he’s credited.

I don’t really mean uncredited, so much as not given an artist credit and not a duet.

Glass Tiger - Don’t Forget Me When I’m Gone? I don’t think Bryan Adams was listed as ā€œfeaturingā€ at the time, but has been added at various times since
