I’ve just been watching HIGNFY and one of the guests was Feargal Sharkey (I’d never have recognised him).
Listening to the Pretty In Pink soundtrack, as is my want.
And Maaaaaaaan I was excited to hear INXS had a track on a big Hollywood film soundtrack (which was kind of important at the time), and Maaaaaan I was disappointed when I heard it.
It’s not the worst track on the album, but it’s not far off.
But.
Listening to it now, it’s actually the perfect introduction from LLT to Kick.
Edit: oh, Do What You Do. IYDKNYK.
Also, big respect for them putting the 12” of Shellshock on the friggin’ soundtrack album.
Gosh.
Lol.
I have to wonder if the nobodies who covered Wouldn’t It Be Good thought they had a hit.
There Has to be a story behind that.
Good to hear them and Jimmy on The Lost Boys as well.
I didn’t realise until recently that a year earlier, The Smiths’ “Please Please Please…” was also used in Ferris Bueller - an instrumental cover by Dream Academy in the art gallery scene.
omg…
That was my brother’s…or rather my brother’s bride’s…entrance theme.
I insisted.
It was beautiful.
Beats the fark out of Pachelbel’s Canon.
Ohhh that’s good.
We had Pachelbel’s Canon.
Lol.
So did I.
It is interesting. It is a bit more karaoke than producing something like an original recording, which is a limit of the technology currently, but the voice does sound pretty close to Bon Scott.
I want to hear AI Jimmy Barnes singing Why Can’t This Be Love?
