When Bill Oddie died a few months ago some on here were posting about the Goodies. Driving home today on it came.
Do do do the funky gibbon. Laughing in the car and singing along.

Some of the Goodies incidental/background music was also absolutely fantastic. Theres onr called ‘Needed’ I think. Its a total mellow jam. So good.

A quick google search suggests a lot of the original recordings were wiped. However, someone on youtube seems to have snipped together a 7 minute version. Canned laughter included.
Edit: that is some seriously tasty guitar work.

Heard part 3 for the first time a couple of years ago, wow, what a song. Too good for mainstream pop as most classics are. Brilliant I reckon.

1974 was the year. You couldn’t go to a party or turn on the radio or be anywhere near a jukebox without hearing it.
Got here in 88. Heard 1 and 2 heaps of times but like I said only a few years ago part 3. Googled it when I got home to find out who it was by typing in a few lyrics the first time I heard it. It’s a classic.

Another classic from the vast catalogue of Vanda/Young, who were former bandmates of Stevie Wright in The Easybeats of course. George Young was the older brother of Malcolm and Angus, so we’re talking Australian rock & roll royalty here.
