Sorry Saga - What Hirdy Said

Some of the thrust of BF’s pieces are finding an echo internationally in regard to government regulatory powers over the quasi- dominant abuse of power by sporting federations .
A recent article by Ben Van Rompuy of Asser - on the role of EU competition law in tackling abuse of regulatory power by sports associations - has some relevance to the role of the AFL and the Australian Government’s hands off approach.
In the summary of the article, Van Rompuy refers to the following:

“It analyses European and national decision making practice regarding conflicts of interest between the role of sports associations as the regulator of their sport and their commercial interests in the events that they promote and organise.”

Meanwhile, in yet another of those UK Parliamentary inquiries, the head of UK Sport is virtually accusing British Cycling of a cover-up in regard to its culture

Understand AFL initially included those substances in the charges, but amended . There were invoices by Alavi for some substances to EFC, but subsequently recrredited. Dermie and co just leaving out the bits. The ADRVP conclusions on possible use were limited to TB4. Note that the ADRVP can only find re possible use, a much lower threshold than comfortable satisfaction.

I think in that first set of charges, they included aspirin (ugh! substances made from tree bark) and dihydrogen oxide.

Off topic of recent posts, but does anyone have a summary of evidence for McDevitt misleading Parliament? This would be specially useful in the case of his replies to questions on notice because he and his department had a lot of time to consider their responses.

If misleading means not answering direct questions and responding with irrelevant answers in in his responses on notice, look no further than those responses.
Also, there is the response to the question of TB4 classification, SO and S2 in WADA - but that may be that he has no clue as to why TB4 banned. UEFA accepted the explanation in that Sakho higenamine case and dumped on WADA scientists. WADA did not appeal. As a follow up, Ben could be asked the source for his assertions.

I meant where he gave deliberately incorrect answers or answers that were intended to mislead the Senators.

Eggsactly. There is a mandatory time period for responding to questions on notice.IRRC , the questions by Nova Peris under an earlier sub- heading come within the category of questions that have not been in fact answered . No doubt the Senators are on to that if they can be bothered with the follow-up. It may depend which Senators choose to participate in the Health and Sport part of Senate Estimates.

Maybe Jeff is too busy covering the backside of Tim Worner the CEO of Channel 7.

The most interesting thing about the exchange between Stephen Peake, Rhys-Jones and Brereton is finding out some new names of people involved in the J34 movement - No surprise that Peake is involved as he has been strong in his convictions throughout and is one of a number of legal people working behind the scenes - Is it possible to obtain a list of key J34 members.

There is another C7 board member who might be concerned. Judge has given C7 and Kennet a hit in handling the Amber Harrison case ( she got one too).

AFL now has an article on possible Hunt inquiry on its site, reference to role of Labor Government and Demetriou. Deflect, deflect.

Dermi says he read chips book and found it hard to read, lol. Its hardly a difficult read. Plus its only the tip of the ■■■■■■ iceberg and leaves a lot out due to the risk of litigation. He has done absolutely nothing except for listen to what the corrupt head honchos tell him at the AFL. What a farking tool and Rys Jones is even worse.

Munna:
Maybe he suffers from ADD. You can get a TUE exemption for that.

Yes something has been prepared.

Strange that no whistleblowers re Essendon. A recent US ban for an athlete testing positive was assisted by whistleblowers. Ask Dermie and co abound that

Are you able to share a summary?

Andrew Demetriou Disorder?

I understand Evans was suffering from that.

What is the treatment?

You don’t mean that you do all your scapegoating press releases on a TUEsday to get an exemption from taking any responsibility?

I’m quite interested in Dermie’s comment that he knows the producer/manufacturer of the substances. Croad? Or someone else. Who does he know in that industry? What is his connection?

It’s probably wher ever he goes to have all that crap injected in his face.

Are you able to share a summary?

I didn’t author it, but I shall ask.
