Tremendous work - one of the best Hitler videos yet - McIdiot's overweening ambition is perfectly captured.Like the rest of you I have been feeling relieved and happy and have no worries about any appeal, if it happens. The only (slight) cloud is the general pig ignorance of basically the rest of society. Iâd had a long drafted post to facebook for the eventual not guilty finding and posted it within half an hour of the verdict - I had some choice words to say about the whole process, but on the whole it was pretty positive, and I think I made it clear I wasnât taking myself too seriously.
I live in Sydney and my facebook friends are all sydney based, so I just expected a quiet pat on the back for putting up with all this â â â â for over 2 years. Instead I got a tremendous amount of push back and comments along the lines of âThey werenât cleared but found not guilty of injecting Thymosin based on the available evidence. The hearing was in front of an AFL tribunal - difficult to see it as absolutely independent. It seems undisputed that some performance enhancing substance (or one that was deemed to be performance enhancing) was injected into the players. If it wasnât thought to enhance performance why do it? They werenât there for 'flu shots.â
This is from quite intelligent people who have no dog in the fight, and who have little interest in AFL. God knows what itâs like in Melbourne.
Oh well (as my mum used to say) âyou canât make silk purse out of a sowâs earâ.
Great work Guzz. How appropriate that itâs from the movie Downfall.
How farked up is this whole process when WADA can appeal against a finding but the players canât!!
Couple of components to De Novo challenge
- Players lawyers were very strong Pre Hearing on this matter
- Some of the players retired before the WADA code changes in January 2015. So there last signed agreement is still under the old anti-doping code
- This appeal is not just a hope and see. Many many hours of discussions involving many experts across Australia and Swiss Legal/Law experts. This appeal is based on those conversations and what group consensus was at the end.
Prevention is always better than the cure, and the AFL had rocks in their head signing up for WADA. It wouldnât surprise me if the decision was mainly political, as someone like Vlad was ingratiating himself with the government of the time.
I read about them signing up ages ago somewhere. From what I remember it was done at the last minute as time was running out. Vlad had been distracted by something else going on and no one had looked fully at the implications, so it was signed there and then on the last day otherwise they would lose their funding. Cant remember where I read it.
You are refreshing my memory, so I looked it up;
http://www.abc.net.au/pm/content/2005/s1417859.htm
Government comment about it;
âThe back-flip though has been welcomed by the Federal Sports Minister, Senator Rod Kempâ
âROD KEMP: Itâs very important. Itâs very important that all Australian sports are WADA code compliant and from the Governmentâs point of viewâ
The AFLPA though were rightly concerned;
âBut the AFL Players Association says it still has some concerns with aspects of the WADA drug codeâ
The AFL are responsible for the welfare of the players and they sign on to something like this due to political pressure, and here we are. What a great decision Vlad. As he would say though, he never injected anyone.
Never made one of these before but I thought I'd give it a shot:
That is very very funny. Great script. Covers everything. Love it.
Quoted PostQuoted PostAfter watching Sam Newmans intro on the footy show I switched off.He mentioned he talk about Gil and Barret later in the show.
What did he say?
Iâve been wondering that as well
He actually kissed their arses. I saw it as the compromise he had to make to the speech at the beginning of the show.
he laid it on so thick I am sure it was tongue in cheek âŚbut I did like how uncomfortable Barrett looked waiting for Sam to say something cutting lol it never came
Quoted PostQuoted PostSorry but watching Barrett on Thursday night deciphering that an 8 ball is "about 60 lines" and talking about Gold Coast Suns is just showing how pathetic this has all becomeThere is too much journalism and opinion of people who are simply not relevant
If a financial expert or political expert took the position of Caro or Patrick Smith and it unfolded like it did they would be ridiculed or sackedSuch a joke

I think thereâs not enough journalism, and far too much opinion.
But these journalists are patheticâŚ
I think they can no longer claim to be journalists There is no balanced presentation of facts, just opinion dressed up as fact.
Tracey Holmes was the one who remained most objective, essentially non judgmental, and consistently reported both sides where possible. No doubt she always expressed the view that the players might not have been guilty. She, in my opinion deserves the Walkely Award. Respect.
Call me naive, but until now I would have assumed that the Australian Government might have been interested in a situation where an Australian citizens employment in Australia can be severely damaged by an international tribunal with no recourse to an Australian court on the basis of fact.I would have thought if they came across that sort of situation theyâd go, âEh? That canât be right. Have to fix that.â
But apparently not.
You may want to go and have a look at just what we are signing up for with the TPP then. They donât give a flying frack about the rights of the citizens.
Great hitler rant. Awesome. âCommunication specialistsâ even got a snort.
Maybe the records that were provided didnt give them what they needed, so they discredited them, discarded them and lied that they existed?
PS. Just saw the posts above that seem to indicate a few others have this suspicion.
Hitler rant was very very funny. Thanks Guz. Can someone send it to ASADA ?
PPS. Maybe not such a good idea to annoy them. He sems like a pretty vindictive type.
That video is Priceless!
Can the user who did the foi and obtained the thymosin=thymodulin asada email please pm me. I apologise I canât remember who you were
Am hearing it's one Carlton and two saints players to come with the two Collingwood on clen?
Are people putting together 2 + 2 = 5. Yes these other players may have partied with Thomas and Keefe at the StKilda Festival - But because ASADA visited Collingwood for random tests on the 10th February, DOESNâT mean ASADA visited other clubs at that time - Thatâs how 2 + 2 = 5.
Hi Everyone
I have made a video that looks at our journey the last few years and remind people that it was our strength, conviction, character and fabric as a club that came out the other end a more united and stronger club.
Hope you like it.

Political âexpertsâ do this every day.
I think thereâs not enough journalism, and far too much opinion.
Very little of what was written about the saga was well written and argued. It was all about getting across a personal opinion in the most emotive way possible.
And no journalist was ever able to be swayed from their âopinionâ which tells you where the reporting was at. Too invested in being right to critically review the facts.
Which is a problem in journalism and politics and obviously in mcdevittâs head as well.
Probably a pretty good reason why society is stuffed.
And any time you hear anyone say :
âIâm allowed my opinionâ or âIâm in the opinions businessâ, you can be pretty sure you can ignore them.
Well argued persuasive discussion is what society needs. Not d*cheads sticking to their opinions because itâs âstrengthâ, and because they want to be seen as âstrong leadersâ etc etc etc.
Accept that you can get things wrong, change your opinion. Act accordingly. Thatâs strength.
But these journalists are patheticâŚ
I think part of the problem is that none of it is informed opinion. They should be able to argue both sides based on the available facts, then finish with a well researched conclusion. Itâs still an opinion but it is based on ALL the available evidence and it is therefore informed.
Very few people seem capable of that type of analytical dissection of a topic, and given the way our universities operate its not likely they will be able to in the future.
âYou are entitled to your opinion. But you are not entitled to your own facts.â - Daniel Patrick Moynihan
Hi EveryoneGreat effort...but no other clubs will understand it. They don't have the strength of character and loyalty to understand it.I have made a video that looks at our journey the last few years and remind people that it was our strength, conviction, character and fabric as a club that came out the other end a more united and stronger club.
