I thought she was ok until I saw her in Jurassic park 3.

Tbf to the movie Truman did say to Harry we need you to train the astronauts on how to drill

The characters what saves the movie.

If some one who hasnt seen it goes in expecting it to be realistic and acurate they will be extermly disapointed a movie that you park that stuff to the side and just enjoy it for what it is imo

Butch and Suni to return on Crew 9 dragon around 19th March.

Crew 10 taking off on 12th March.

Blue ghost well on its way to the moon.

Also a funny clip on the trajectory to get Blue ghost to the moon. Familiar?

Vast’s effort to hopefully get the NASA contract for the ISS replacement. Demo mission later this year and Vast1 launch on a falcon heavy first half of 2026. Spending over $1billion

This is long but great to see how small commercial space startups operate. Nothing like Boeing or Nothrup Grumman.

Do all these private entities follow protocol not to put any earthlings on stuff in space?

Sorry I’m not sure what you are asking. Let me know if the below doesn’t answer.

For any American company, they cannot launch humans into space unless NASA approves them as human rated. Involves test flights without humans.

SpaceX went through this process before they could launch their crew dragon capsules to the ISS.

Same goes for ESA (European space agency), ISRO (India), Roscosmos (Russia).

Also for any flights to space, you need approvals from government bodies such as the FAA (for now) in the US.

This. It was 1969. It was the culmination of the space race. No one doubted all the other achievements of that era. Sputnik, Yuri Gagarin - it seemed like a natural progression.
The USSR would have been monitoring it and would have exposed it as a fraud if it was not genuine.
Besides - the astronauts left stuff on the moon.
I’m just surprised they stopped going there.

Seems likely that it will only require the approval of the Head of DOGE at some point in the next 3 weeks.

It was almost all due to cost. The remaining was a lack of will.

During the Apollo program, NASA spent up to 4.5% of the US’s GDP. The budget fell to just over 1% by the mid 70’s and is about 0.5% of GDP currently.

350,000 people were paid by the government as a part of the Apollo program.

Today, SpaceX is looking to build the capability to do moon and mars missions with a workforce of under 20,000 employees. And more importantly, at under 5% the cost.

I get that people don’t like his influence over government. I don’t like some of it myself.

If going to the moon and mars are ever going to happen in a consistent and sustainable manner in the near future, it will only be via his company.

I wasn’t potting spacex, but form suggests that anything that delivers cash to his companies, and preferably a monopoly on such cash, will be the priority.

Anyway, that’s for another thread. Hopefully they’ll return the ISS astronauts soon

He deserves to be potted at for his political stuff.

Not for SpaceX and what it’s doing though.

ADD
Where SpaceX and Starlink deliver the best service / cost they should get the government cash.

Saw the video below about this ring galaxy called the Bullseye galaxy.

9 or maybe 10 rings apparently and you can see the smaller galaxy that crashed through it causing the ripple rings to the left. Captured by Hubble.
