Spec/changes for the real magpies (2023)

Crows will rinse us too

A few more reality checks on their way

They defend very well also as attack the Crows. Tough few weeks coming up. Said we could be in Freo’s position before last night’s game

I think we will beat the Crows they are poor away from AO

Fark dark place this one…

If we let these farkers just physically push us around AGAIN then this season will be as bad as the last 10.

Depending on how the VFL goes and injuries ofc, I’d like to see the following.

Ins: Cox, Baldwin, Menzie,
Outs: Guelfi, Weideman, Bryan

We will win a close one and the gloomers will be miserable for a week but jump on here pretending like they knew we were going to win…

I’m in Melbourne next weekend for this one and haven’t seen us lose since 2017 (10-0). Yep… all about me.

why do i feel like this will be worse than when we pushed em at home?

Not a gloomer ive just been really impressed with port of late

Debut Tsatsas and throw the kid amongst it. Lets see what hes made of

They’ve been brilliant and deserve to start favourites.

Doesn’t mean we can’t win it. They’ve won 10 in a row and coming off the BYE… it’s an interesting scenario for them.

They’ve also had some very narrow wins in that winning sequence (us, Sydney, Richmond come to mind).

It’s amazing how one really poor outing after a terrufic month, beating our rivals on the big stage has created a crisis apparently.

We’ve improved on last year, we’re in the eight and possibly exceeding internal expectations. A bit of perspective.

A big chance to redeem ourselves on the MCG against quality opposition. Hopefully a big crowd and a spirited Essendon response. Why not!

I’m going on a 28 hour round trip next weekend, including this game. Please win to make the tiredness I will suffer worthwhile.

I feel a bit better about it today.

We looked well off but then again, so have many other teams.

Brisbane lost to the Hawks at the MCG.
Freo lost to Richmond at home.
Suns got belted by FarkCarlton.
Dees lost to the Cats. Whilst at GMHBA, Cats were without Dangerfield and Cameron (for most of the game).

That’s not to mention Eagles losing by 171 points.

That being said, would prefer we make changes and not back the same team in to make amends this week.

Kelly should be an out. Bring back Hind or Mass.

Scott said it was his call not to play Draper, and he probably could have still played with discomfort. I hope he reconsiders and we get Draper back in.

Forward set up needs to be looked at. Menzie needs to be in the starting 22.

Is Shiel a chance to play? Setterfield is still two weeks away (after this round), right?

I hope they rest Draper. Why risk the injury worsening or becoming chronic? Scott eluding to it worsening over time if keeps playing. On that basis, he tests. Scott not taking risks with managing players, he’s playing the long game. Step back a second, we’re likely not ready for finals and it may actually serve us better to just miss out this year. We need to see work required to become a legit finals side. I personally don’t sense playing and being comfortably beaten by Geelong, Richmond in a final will serve us well. Just my view given last decade experiences of false dawns. There, rest Draper and manage without him.

Shiel, not his biggest fan. Don’t want him in midfield group unless just for a few rotations. Play him half forward. I sense he’s still weeks away anyway.

Next week we just want to be much stronger in contest and harder to compete against. If can do that, the rest follows.

We may be without BZT so will need to muddle through. Hopefully an improved competitive footy next week.

Scott made sure to say that Port would be coming off a 16 day break.

That’s probably the longest break of the lot for bye rounds, isn’t it?

With the way they bash and crash they’d be relishing the break, they are set for the rest of the season.

P.s hope I’m wrong

See, I thought the same about us. That we needed the rest. But who knows.
