Acting has never been one of star wars strong points.
but with both anikins and padme in the first ep its especially bad
Laurence â â â â â â â Olivier couldnât have done anything with the plot line Anakin had in the prequel trilogy. Daniel Day Lewis couldnât have delivered the âsandâ speech convincingly.
Christiansen was rubbish, but he had nothing to work with either.

agree he had little to work with, but his delivery is just off far too much and actively takes you, or took me, out of the movie anywayâŚ
like i said, think the characters are alright, at least we knew anakin was the chosen one and had some investment in him because we all knew he was about to have a massive fall from grace sooner or later⌠but just find the new leads so uninterestingâŚ
Just came back from seeing it, thought it was good but not great. First hour apart from the Rey and Luke stuff was mind numbingly boring.
The Luke story arc made the movie.
My biggest criticism was the movie didnât seem fun like TFA.
Was I the only one who found it a little weird that Leis wasnât that heart broken by Hans death( then again she is/was a awful actor)
They made Poe much less fun
Rey is simply beautiful, good actress too.

If we could cut 30 minutes from the movie we know where it would come from. Casino? Arms dealers? Whoâs good and whoâs bad? Cmon.
It was all worth it for 3 things.

Luke at the end. When he emerges after the blasting. Wow.
The 4th thing was the warp speed explosion sequence in silence, as mind blowing as it was, was simply flawed with the way it was a last minute idea.
I loved the flashback that included the hand of Luke on R2D2 that was in the original trailer to the Force Awakens.
With the way Lukes arc comes to a close, I was only told today that Obi Wan went the same way. Check out the old footage and see if you get what I mean.
I donât buy the fact Rey doesnât have Jedi lineage. We will see.
And please, multiple times the audience thought you had killed off Princess Leia. Just do it. The floating through space thing like Mary Poppins was so lame.
Cut the BS and this is a great film. But sadly the film is just an escape film. Will they or wonât they run out of fuel, when it could have been a lot darker. It felt like they were treading water and didnât move the narrative along nearly enough.
And it has been said earlier that this could have easily be number IX.

See I mustnât pay attention enough, or im too simple. I watched it with my two boys 8 and 10, found it entertaining, funny, kept my attention then It finished. By no means a classic but Iâm not sure what else they could have done.
I thought Rey and Ren were both pretty solid.

Yep agree i was like âget back to Luke,Rey,Kylo and Snokeâ story arch.
Just watched it with my 2 kids, 6&8. They were disappointed and said that Disney has ruined Star Wars by making it too funny!!

am i the only one who was let down by the Rey parents outcome? felt like a massive waste of time considering they made it a pretty big storyline
less said about Leia flying in space the better

Same way I felt for the fifteen or so minutes between finding out that purple hair lady wasnât actually a traitor and the time you find out none of that mattered anyway.
It was like âoh, so Poe was just a jerk⌠that sucksâ
I wouldâve had the reveal that she wasnât crazy, and Code Cracker sold them out, happen one after the other.
