Stuff To Do In QLD

Any tips for people with no kids??

Enjoy every minute.

That's good advice.

You are all very generous individuals.

Reckon we'll like QLD.

Stay that way.

Breakfast with the Birds in Port Douglas is the best family friendly thing I have ever done. When we lived in Cairns we used to go every couple of months cos it was a great day out.

Can't agree with this.
Unless you want to explain to your kids what happens when a parrot and the hat you're wearing love each other very much...

HA!!!  Can't say I had that happen.

Although those pesky birds did steal some pancakes.

I've got a buck's weekend on the Gold Coast next week, not sure whether to hope that it's not as bad as people are saying, or else realise that people like me are part of the problem...

Cape Trib is great, can be a bit pricey though.  Make sure you have a look at the tropical fruit farm while you're there, frozen soursop is the best thing ever..

Years ago in brissy, I had an awesome day trip snorkelling at Tangalooma - the boat left from Redcliff but there was a shuttle from Brisbane proper.  Awesome day, snorkelling through a maze of wrecked ships, there was sea turtles and wobbegongs and massive potato cod and zillions of fish all over the place.  Highly recommend it.

I remember going to some bird place called Carrumbin (sp?) Sanctuary on the Goldy, as they say. I can't remember much but I think it was good. It was 1997, midget 6-7 year old BG was not feeling well and didn't want to go anywhere that day. Parents said nah we have to go out, so we hopped on the bus to go to this bird joint. I remember I was lying down, with my head on the aisle side and my legs over my mum. I did this massive projectile vomit (which I used to specialise in as a baby apparently) which had so much "projection" that my mum was completely clean and the chuck went all over the window, with the bus driver unfortunately not going unscathed either. Spent the whole day in carrumbin sanctuary getting pushed around in a pram. Its like I got ■■■■■■ without the alcohol.

Oh and do a Croc cruise, they a freeging BIG up there.

I love my kid.
But...
They ■■■■ you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.
But they were ■■■■■■ up in their turn
By fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern
And half at one another‘s throats.
Man hands on misery to man.
It deepens like a coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
And don‘t have any kids yourself.

I love my kids too, but the best hours of the day are when they’re asleep.

Not sure if it's true but I was told that you can visit Flo at the farm and sample her pumpkin scones for a fee.
