I must say though, Shanahan is way too good of a player to still be unselcted at this point of the draft.

My little mock leading up to our first pick after analysing club needs.
- Richmond - Jasper Alger (surely wont take a third tall forward and as per twomeys mock) Another option Sam Davidson in richmonds VFL.
- Dogs - Christian Moraes (dont need a tall forward and as per twomeys mock)
- West Coast - Alex Dodson (need a ruck and best ruck is available)
- Dogs - Tom Gross (tough inside mid depth to replace libba, smith, macrae)
- Saints - Jack Whitlock (will be desperate for a tall forward here. Saints have a NGA in Hofmann who i hope a bid comes earlier so it forces the saints to match with this pick.
- Port - Jobe Shanahan/Thomas Sims (will be desperate to find a replacement for dixon)
- Dockers - Hamish Davis (take a local boy with davis being the next best rated WA hybrid fwd)
- Hawks - Jack Ough (hard one to find here but a tall rangey midielder is something the hawks dont have)
- GWS - Noah Mraz/James Barrat (will be keen to add a defender after losing cumming, perryman, haynes)
Dons - If we want a one of the good key forwards left on the board to fall to us, I cant see it happening unless we trade up which I personally hope we do not do if it involves a first rounder.

Both of our future firsts for 28 and Richmond’s future first! That is the only way I would part with either of our F1s this year.

I’d do this deal.

If I am doing the maths right, trading the Melbourne F1 effectively means (in a roundabout way) we get Shanahan and Kako for the price of pick 9. Is that right? We traded 2 picks in the 30’s, but they were collateral from the other trades.
If that’s right I am 100% all for it also!

Yeah you’re right but when you get a free kick such as the rights to kako, you need to make it count more than that…. Rather than looking at the net result
